I am a 19-year-old urban fantasy author hopeful, as well as avid UF fan. :)

My avatar is a photo of my Asian ball-jointed doll, Maddi. I'm quite an ABJD enthusiast and love him very dearly. He also likes reading, although I think he's more attracted to young adult books than I am.

Knowing the author of this book, it was definitely a pleasure to get to read this. I enjoyed it overall, although I felt like some things happened to fast, like Dee and Luke falling in love, and the development of Dee's mind powers. I can't say I was too fond of the ending, either, although I did like the format of it. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable book, and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for some dark faerie books.

  • The Time Paradox

At first I wasn't too into it, which is rather unusual for me because I love the Artemis Fowl books so much. However, I stuck it out, and by the end when everything was wrapping up, The Time Paradox had definitely gotten on my good side. What really got me, though, was the end of the book itself. So great, I couldn't help but let out a gasp and big wide smile. So, overall, my favorite ending for an Artemis Fowl book, but not my favorite of the series.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually liked this book. I'm not particularly fond of paranormal romances, but by the end of this book, I was in love with Jezebel and Paul-- and Daunuan. Oh yes, I've definitely become a Daunuan fan. I expected to just read the first book for fun, but now I will definitely be buying the rest of the series. (Especially the third, since it stars Daunuan, hehe.)

    Vampire Hunter D (Volume 1)

    by Hideyuki Kikuchi, Saiko Takaki
    • Rated 4 stars

I was a little worried when I heard they were making Vampire Hunter D into a manga, being such a fan of the novels. However, the manga truly did the novel justice, which certainly made me happy. I enjoyed reading the story all over again, although sometimes the art bothered me. D looked perfect, but Doris's boobs could have been a little smaller. But nonetheless, if you've been thinking about reading Vampire Hunter D, but been a little wary of the novel, pick up the manga instead!

  • The Demon Ororon (Volume 1)
    • Rated 5 stars

It's been a while since I sunk my teeth into a volume of Ororon, but it's still ringing with that bite that dragged me in the first time. The unique art style, the interesting story, it's a shame the series is only four volumes long. I'm certainly buying the complete set, though.

I was pleasantly surprised at how light this manga was at times. I enjoyed the art, I enjoyed the story, it was everything I was expecting from a manga that captured me the moment I looked at the cover. June never ceases to bring out the best in boys' love, and Necratoholic definitely makes it onto the list.

Saying this anthology is full of smut doesn't scratch the surface. When I say this is a very smutty BL, I mean veeeeeerrrryyy smutty. But, surprisingly, it's actually rather good. However, if you have a problem with sodomy... don't read it.

  • Only the Ring Finger Knows
    • Rated 4 stars

The novel was a fun, light read, but the manga is where the story really shows. I loved the story when I read it the first time, and now that I've gotten to read the original, I love it yet again. As usual, I recommend this to any BL fan.

  • After I Win (Yaoi)
    • Rated 5 stars

This was certainly the first graphic BL I've read where there was more masturbation than actual sex. However, it was cute, funny, and light, and one I'd like to own and read again. It's certainly worth buying.

    Ka Shin Fu (Yaoi)

Makoto Tateno delivers again with Ka Shin Fu. Deception, seduction, tradition, and secrets abound in this manga, all coming together to make one fun manga. Tateno is one BL manga-ka who just can't write a bad story.
