“I attended the Codex Judas Congress at Rice University this Spring, and found myself riveted with this subject. As April DeConick was the facilitator - I found myself in need of purchasing her book. This book is an EXCELLENT resource for anyone interested in the Gosple of Judas or Gnosticism in general. Right off the bat this book gives you a lesson in Gnosticism that was very concise and helpful. DeConick provides her translation of the GoJ and her thoughts on the matter which are both provocative and sterling. In the back of the book she also provides "further reading" for the GoJ, 2nd Century Christianity, Gnosticism, and the New Testament Apocrypha. She also provides a snyopsis for Sethian Gnostic Literature and provides readers with the testimonies of the Church Fathers on the Gospel of Judas with additional commentary. And if this were not enough, she provides a Q and A session that would be a great resource for introducing students to the Gospel of Judas and this "controversy" of translations.”
