I apologise for not getting back to anyone for so long. My PC crashed 3 months ago, (April 2008) and I lost all my emails, email addresses and everything important. I have spent most of the last 3 months restoring or replacing what I lost. Hard work, I tell you.

I used to work across the road from Jesse Ketchum School in Toronto,... more »

    Hey Sidwell,

Aside from being a group member and a slightly addicted military history reader, I work for Zenith Press, a mid-sized military history publisher in the Twin Cities. We just started a blog on which we'll be providing book-related content (excerpts, author interviews, photos, videos) and running regular book contests/giveaways for our military and aviation history titles.

I believe the first giveaway, set to run later this week or early next week, is going to be a drawing for a collection of illustrated histories from Eric Hammel on the Pacific War, including his books on Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and more.

At some point, we will be also announcing our contests on Facebook and Shelfari, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me spread the word to other group members. If so, the blog can be found at http://www.zenithpress.blogspot.com/.

    Take care,
    John

Hi! I’m from the Canada group, just popping by to let you know that we are trying to drum up interest in doing a group read. We have a thread started for anyone who is interested to let us know they are interested. Once we know there will be a few people, we’ll then decide on a book (Canadian author, of course!). Hope you decide to join us!

I have a lot to say in the Inquisition thread because my HF novel's MC is a Dominican royal confessor and the Inquisition is omnipresent. But I would be referencing my soon to be released novel and might offend. What say you?

Are you kidding? I would never remove you. You are the founder. As far as I'm concerned we are partners and I wouldnt do anything drastic without consulting you. I've been running the True crime group by myself and thought about getting a co captain, then I found out they can delete me so I decided to just keep doing it by myself.

I have to look to be sure, but you go to 'settings' or something like that and you can change the avatar, introduction, group title and probably some other things I'm forgetting.

If you get time stop by the group and tell us what your reading. I've posted some new questions, but, like just about every other group I'm in, it's like pulling teeth to get people to chat. Maybe its the time of year. Everyone is busy.

What do you think about changing the name of the group to include memoir? I am also in the memoir group but they havent had a post for about 10 days. I see a lot of the books in the bio group are more memoir than bio.

I agree, its not as user friendly as it used to be, but its kind of fun to explore and find new things all the time.

Hey, thanks for adding me to your group.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to it. Go to the members of the group, find me, and under my picture it will say "Promote" and click on that. That's all there is to it.

Hi. I am a member of the biography group. I noticed you havent been to Shelfari for quite a while and your group isnt very active. Would you be interested in a coadministrator or someone taking over the group?

    Hello Sidewell
What proof that history happened the way it was said?... A verry important question...A question that passed my mind a lot...while I was doing a researsh in a master degree in urban planning..I am an architect...but
I was doing a master degree in urban planning about the development of the city of Damascus Syria in the Middle East since the late Ottoman Empire, the nineteen century till our present days...(After the Ottoman Empire comes the French Mandate in Syria then the Independance period) So I had to read a lot of books about history...and i can't tell you how much i found differences between French books english books and arabic books about the same events...
and i was always asking myself who is saying the truth or the truth should be some where between all these books...
