“Dawn Barker's heartbreaking novel, Fractured, has left me with me tears in my eyes. It follows the lives of married couple Anna and Tony as they deal with a tragedy that will change not only their lives, but also those of their friends and family. Told from mainly Tony's point of view, it also switches between Anna's, her mother's (Wendy) and mother-in-laws point (Ursula) of view. Out of the four perspectives, I preferred Anna's. She gave insight into the thoughts and feelings of one dealing with mental illness. To me, Anna gave mental illness a voice. Her mother-in-law Wendy was the person I disliked most! She was very old fashioned in her beliefs and views towards mental illness, which I found myself strongly disagreeing with. I had the most sympathy for Anna's husband, Tony, because he didn't know where this had come from but knew he could have done more. As for the final perspective, Wendy, I was quite ambivilent towards her. She was so emotional, I found her quite annoyong like Ursula did! Overall, these four characters Barker has chosen gave a variety of insights and responses that really had me thinking, which is what a great book does! ”

“This is the first book I've read by Jane Costello. The gorgeous covers have always appealed to me but the stories always sounded so predictable after reading the blurb. The Wish List sounded like a lot of fun and less predictable so I gave it a go. I'm happy I did because I loved it from the first sentence :) Emma is a likeable bubbly character, unsure of many things in life from work to love. With her 30s approaching Emma decides to complete a long lost list. Her list is anything but boring and I appreciated the fact that there were things on there she knew she couldn't complete. It made her more real and vulnerable. In some ways, this list also helped Emma make changes to her work and love life. It takes a long time with many mistakes but Emma finds the job for her in an unlikely place and makes a final decision on her love life. There were times when I thought I knew what Emma would do, only to be unsure a few chapters later. These make the best chic lit books in my opinion! ”

This one I liked especially because it had alternating points of fews from the two different main characters, unlike her other books. I also thought that it was just super cute, while being a tear jerker at the same time. It really makes you think. I really thought it went by really fast and definatly wasn't a boring or slow read at all. I kept reading so I could figure out what happened next, I was so into it. This is now honestly one of my favorites books of hers, and definatly one of my favorite books:)”
