I just finished getting my Masters over the summer and I am so happy. I am an avid reader and I am always looking for something good to read. I have to say that I have books all over the place and my to be read pile is growing every day. I read all different types of books as long as I can get into the book.     In a moment of pique and frustration Virginia wrote an open letter to Oprah, and shared it with a few writer friends who are going through the same thing we are.     In reality Oprah is just a metaphor--a name that might get this subject the attention it deserves. Because when you have a publication like Library Journal listing their 31 Best Books of 2009 http://ow.ly/HDU7 and the "genre" fiction list includes Street Lit --8 books but no category for contemporary African American writers, we are really in trouble.

    just before logging in for this site, i just finished this book titled "Gotta Have It" by Shawna Grundy and im shocked to say that i really enjoyed it. based on the review that it got i thought it wasnt gonna be that good. now im gonna start posession by Daneene Hale. have a wonderful weekend also!!!!!!!

    Hi Tiffany, guess what, I made a new book trailer for my latest Kimani novel, Meet Me in Paris. It was tiring: totally wiped me out. I used my Sims as actors, and they can be as tough as the Hollywood kind.     Not too sure if I told you, but my latest Harlequin Kimani, Meet Me In Paris is a September release. It’s been getting good reviews on Amazon and was listed as one of Harlequin’s Top 10 Best Road Trip Reads for the Summer. Romantic Times gave it 4 stars, so you might want to give it a try. Simona
