Stalking your Shelfari account lol. I am locked out of my Shaw account...don't have your email or blog address. can you email it to me at ktayl872@mymrc.ca. Thanks! Sorry to be out of touch.
I can't get into the Spondee account anymore :(
I am adding Master Pip to my list! Sounds very interesting.
So the embarrassing news is that i am addicted to vampire novels at the moment
Yes its very good...I might even like it more than Monkey Beach. Blood Sports picks up the story of some of the characters in one of the short stories in Trap Lines. Have you read that?I wish she would publish another novel. I am in Eden Robinson withdrawal.
Your reading list is shaming me. I have been reading only crime thrillers and children's lit this summer :)
Thanks for your note. No I have not read the book about overcoming resistance. At this time I am pushing through resistance, surrender and all! grace filled blessings,Jen
So apparently I had two accounts on here. I ditched the other one and am now just Spondee :)
Hi! I’m from the Canada group, just popping by to let you know that we are trying to drum up interest in doing a group read. We have a thread started for anyone who is interested to let us know they are interested. Once we know there will be a few people, we’ll then decide on a book (Canadian author, of course!). Hope you decide to join us!
Yep :) I have been keeping track of everything I have read for the past ~18 months with the Visual Bookshelf application on Facebook. But I like Shelfari better, I have decided. So I am slowly adding the books from there to my shelf on here. I can't decide if I should add them all or just what I have read in this calender year. Not that it matters but I am geeky like that and like to keep track of what I have read during specific time periods lol. I can't decide right now if I am going to stick it out with the Flying Troutmans or find some easier or lighter reading fare for the present. I am in a reading mood right now, but not sure what it is I want to read. A dilemma. Have a good weekend!
Pleased to meet & share a love of books! Blissful blessings!Jen
Wow you must have a lot of spare time to notice what I have on my shelf...thanks for the heads up
I just noticed this morning that when I added my three favourites to the favourite shelf that I didn't bother to note I own or read one of them. Gosh, how could I have a book as a fave and not have read it? Such a dolt sometimes. I should be getting in the line for some memory.I don't know that I have read as much as I did last summer.
Enjoyed your comments on "The God of Small Things". It's on my Wish List!We have some interesting books in common.Hope you are enjoying your reading this summer!
I think those are two non thriller titles. I can't say I have liked much of his work starting with Last Man Standing onward. I stopped reading until Split Second which I finished but found rather simplistic. I am reading The Camel Club (bathroom reading it ) currently and other than the Stone character and the other members of the Club I find his writing to be well, stupid. Likely he is trying to give a rah rah propaganda crap novel while attempting to have characters tell us information that enforces stereo types and an us/them mentality. It is too bad because his early books were page turners.Don't think you have [The Christmas Train on your shelf.
I would say that The Camel Club series are my favorite, before those it would have been Absolute Power. I hated Saving Faith. I have Wish You Well sitting here to be read, no reason I haven't read now that I think about it. I did read The Christmas Train, is it not on my shelf? What other book is outside the thriller genre?
ONE OF THE MOST DOWN TO EARTH AND PRACTICAL BOOKS ABOUT LEARNING TO WRITE IS: WRITING DOWN THE BONES by NATALIE GOLDBERG
Stephen King's "On Writing" is one of the best and most accessible books on writing that I am familiar with even if you are not a Stephen King fan. I highly recommend it for enjoyment and for tips on becoming a successful writer. It is often on the required books list for creative writing courses. Let me know what you think after you've looked at it.
Thanks for the note. What types of "writing" books are you interested in? As subject or method?
