My natural affinity drives me towards non-fiction, political science/political philosophy books, ranging from Plato and Machiavelli to Marx and Mearsheimer. But I thoroughly enjoy fiction, too. Among my preferred fiction authors are Le Carre, Follet, and my newly found admiration for post-colonial writers such as Arundhati Roy and Salman Rushdie.

I also have a penchant for the classics, which includes both fiction and non-fiction. I think sometimes I read the classics because "you're supposed to." This isn't a bad thing, though. Classics are, well... classics. There's just something about them.

Much of my reading has been from articles, excerpts, and readings from anthologies. Therefore, a lot of my readings aren't on my shelf. « less
