I am a major book addict. I love to read. It is rare to find me without a book (or three). I love to discuss or debate about them. I read all genres and non-fiction. Urban fantasy, paranormal, romance, suspense, action-adventure, thrillers, westerns, humor, sci-fi (science fiction), fantasy, some horror... more »

Hi, I created a new group called Golden Age Pulp Heroes. It looks like you've read a variety of those books. Feel free to join if interested!

My favorite fiction is high fantasy with a touch of poetry and a strong female character (princess bride-esque classics). I also like DeLint for his woodsie-ness, Bishop for her darkness, and Pratchett for (of course) the laughs. I haven't read anything that has come out recently in genre fiction because I've been tangled up in the beat poets. Anything you recommend will be appreciated. Dystopia, faerie-lore, sci-fi, classic... I am always courious to branch out.

Hi i've read all the books you talked about except the prequel graphic novel. I really liked the vampire academy which i just finished reading by Richelle Mead
I also really liked the Looking Glasss Wars.
I have started to read more and more YA novels because they are faster, i have kids and am in school so dont have a whole lot of time to read.

Thanks for all that info on Santa Olivia. I'll keep it on my wishlist but won't stress about getting my hands on it just yet. It's nice to know that it will be an easier read than the Kushiel books. Although, I didn't struggle with the 2nd book near as much. Once you get used to the writing and language it's a smoother read.

    Hi Shar t
Yes I am a fan of king and Koontz. I know my fav of Stephen Kings is The Stand because of it is so classic imo. It was so much fun to read.
My favorite Koontz is really hard to say but right now it is The Taking. That story stayed with me, but gosh I do like Odd too.

I have not read the brotherhood seriers yet, but it is on my list. I haven't read the other series yet either. It is also on my list. I have so many books that I want to read and not enough time to get through them as fast as I would like to. Only a few more chapters in Noah though. Then I am on the Gena Showalters series Lords of the Underworld. Have you read that one??

I actually finished it last week and loved it! Dru was a great character! I might have to give her other series another chance. Thanks for all the help though!

That last 2 Ward books? You didn't love V? tsk, tsk He is my fave. Oh well, more V for me then. LOL
I didn't care much for Lover Enshrined either. I liked all the information in it, Lassiter being brought in, John Matthew with Quinn and Blay, more background on Rehv and Xhex. But Phury's whining had me ready to throw the book at the wall.
I'm on page 269 in Lover Avenged. I got a signed copy from JR Ward through the virtual signing she did. Yay!! I'm reading it slowly, kindof savoring it because I know we'll have to wait awhile for the next one. I really like. I've even cried. I'm so totally fallling in love with Rehvenge. He's just breaking my heart in a way I never expected. I think this one will end up on my favorites list.
Let me know what you think of Adrian's series and when you read Rehv's story

I would not go so far as to say they are the same story. They are same in concept, but different enough to stand on their own. IMO.

I really enjoy Lara Adrian's books. Not as much as JR Ward's, but they are right up there and def favorites of mine that I re-read a couple times a year. The 3rd book is my favorite. Although I'll be honest and admit that I've not read the 5th book yet even though it came out in December. I just have sooo many books in my TBR pile and was trying to read some new stuff. And the 6th book will be out in the fall (I believe) and I've thought about waiting and then reading them both.

The Graveyard book is most likely live action. I am glad that it's in good hands. Then again, that's Gaiman.

I will check other Ennis' out, especially True Faith, Demon, and The Pro.

I saw the Coraline GN. I would rather opt for the prose one with McKean's illustration. I just watched the trailer of it. Hmm, I must watch it.

Good news, The Graveyard Book is going to be made a film by Neil Jordan :)

I finished three of Preacher. I am taking a deep breath before stepping into Ancient History. I haven't found Goddess yet. It's his pre-Preacher work I guess. I got his Bloody Mary waiting for me to be read. Aside from these and his Hellblazer run, Hitman, and Punisher, is there anything I shouldn't miss of Ennis'?

Guess what I immediately, after reading the first Preacher book, browsed about Saint of Killers and fell flat for him. I can't wait to start Ancient History. Ennis said, contrary to what many reviews have us believe, Saint of Killers' back story is the heart of Preacher.

That's great. What I want to know also about Graveyard Book is is it an illustrated book like Coraline and not a graphic novel?

He supposedly refers to the Western element (Saint of Killers) in Preacher. Preacher series can be seen as both insane and ingenious.

I could never get around to finding the prose works of this. If I do and read them, I will let you know.

Have you read The Graveyard Book?

Thanks for your response to The Dark Tower question.

I matter of fact downloaded Gunslinger and The Long Road Home so, as it awaits me in the folder until I read them, I don't have to buy them. I think I will like them since it's dark fantasy/western which is a horse I enjoy riding on. Plus King says it pays homage to Ennis/Dillion's work Preacher, which I am currently through the third book wickedly loving it.

I will surely let you know how much I liked both of them once I've read them.
