I'm a writer and speaker with articles published in magazines like Today's Christian Woman and Beyond Ordinary Living, as well as chapters published in numerous anthologies. My writing presently focuses on mental health issues: depression, eating disorders, and the connection between spirituality and mental health. NavPress will be releasing my book, HOPE FOR WHOLENESS: The Spiritual Path to Freedom from Depression, in October 2008.
I love to learn, and therefore love to read--mostly non-fiction. I'm fascinated by stories of people who have overcome great obstacles and read many memoirs written by survivors of war, holocausts, genocides, apartheid, persecution, etc. Though all the books on my shelf are great, I chose my top ten based on my inability to put the book down, or the number of pages I scribbled notes on!
My passions include the environment, humanitarian issues, peace, and Africa. Hobbies include spending time observing nature, gardening, and taking quite rides through the woods or countryside on my bicycle.
