Shani Greene-Dowdell is the author of Keepin' It Tight and editor of Mocha Chocolate Taste A Piece of Ecstasy. She was born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama, a small town rich in southern history and attended Troy State University at Montgomery. Anyone who knows her knows that she is a country girl at heart. Shani has been fascinated with creative writing since grade school. During those formative years, she would rack her brain for hours on end trying to come up with plays and poetic lyrics. Going into adulthood, she never considered herself a writer, but she appreciated great writings and the spirit of entreprenuership. Putting those attributes together, today she has two books under her publishing company, Nayberry Publications, was acknowledged as self-published author of the year by the African American Literary Award Show in Harlem, NY and is moving full speed ahead to becoming a viable name in the literary industry. The idea to write and publish her first book just kind of fell in her lap when she and a good friend were discussing the dynamics of their career and their desparation for change. When she heard the words "you love to read...you have plenty great stories to tell, so why don't you just write a book," Shani took that as a challenge and one year later Keepin' It Tight was ready for publication.
Her books are marketed and sold at major bookstore outlets throughout the United States and she has plans of publishing one author in 2009. Shani is the host of the weekly online talk show, Erotica Gone Wild, cohost on I Aint Trynna Hear That.
Shani is also the entertainment coordinator for WagFest Litertainment, one of the fastest growing literary communities in the industry. WagFest is an event where people may come as strangers but will leave family. For more information on WagFest, go to www.wagfestlitertainment.com
