Hey Shannon! I miss your book reviews. How have you been? What have you read lately that you have loved? I haven't read anything really good in a while and am in need of something good.

Well sounds like your luck has been as good as mine lately. I've read two crappy books in a row. I'll have to try the new tortoise book, but I haven't heard about the witch one. Is it good?

I read one other one, but it wasn't as good as Revolution. It was called a Northern Light. Ok, but I didn't love it. I was going to try another one of hers though. Revolution was so good, she deserves a second chance.

Ohhh no! The Secret Carnation :) Oh well, it's good to be remembered at least:) We meet this Friday to pick our books for the year. We keep having a group that just isn't into showing up all of the time. We are trying to get a dedicated group together. I am suggesting A Girl of the Limberlost. I just read it and really enjoyed her outlook on life and the book itself. One of the other ladies mentioned wanting to read a book called Winter Sea. I looked it up and it looks promising. She read it and loved it. She also wants to read Glass Castle which I read and loved myself. I will let you know what books we are reading after we choose them. I also am interested in reading A Long Walk to Freedom, Mandela's life story. After seeing the movie I think it would be interesting. Have you read it by chance?

I have read The Glass Castle, A Girl of the Limberlost, and Dracula.I really liked A Girl of the Limberlost and The Glass Castle. Dracula was not as gory as I had thought it would be and I liked it more than I thought I would. I found your 2011 list as I was searching through the site. Thanks

You are a dork! No, I didn't give it 4 stars to make you happy:) I gave it 4 stars because it was a great teen romance. I liked how it was written. It wasn't my favorite, but that's just because it was so romancy. I think part of the problem for me was reading Savvy right before - same idea, loved it much better! I'm excited for book club - have you thought about the date any more? By the way - welcome home!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better, my daughter rated the books: #1 Goose Girl, #2 River Secrets, #3 Enna Burning, and last but not least, #4 Forest Born. So, I guess you don't have to rush out & buy it after all.

We need to speak on the phone about Mockingjay and I will convince YOU to loathe it. Ug.
Thanks so much for the Wednesday Wars. I LOVED, LOVED it. I read it in about a day and then read LIzzie Bright and the Buckminster boy? by the same author. Loved that one too. Think I'm a fan of his. LOVED them. Thanks for your thoughtfulness always. I miss you sooo much. We need to vacation together soon.

i really liked flavia--she is quite the character! and i have always enjoyed the maisie dobbs books--i have looked a number of times at your shelf for books you really liked when i have been stuck on what to read next. i'm not always the best at updating my shelf though. how fun that you met up with jill and traci--jill sent me an email to see if i would be in utah before you guys met, but i wasn't. i actually only live probably an hour or so from traci but haven't seen her since she had any of her children. i am doing well-my oldest just started kindergarten and my youngest will be in preschool starting next week--so i might have a few moments to do some things i want to do now. how old are your girls now? do you ever come out this way?
