“I loved reading this book. It's a mystery book but it has science-fiction, terror, romance... But most of all it teaches us that life is a powerful thing and can never be extended. We are born to die. Now I understand why this author is so famous around the world. He writes in a clear way and can make simple explanations of things that are complicated. "Marina" has a lot of character development and I thought the end was a lot like John Green's The Fault in Our Stars because one of the characters is sick too. I definitely want to read more books from Carlos Ruiz Zafón.”

But it turned out to be much more than that and I only realized that in the very end. Things start to get dark and sad. I'd describe this book precisely with those words: dark and sad. The Holocaust is not just something that happened in the past, it's also a way to remember that Humans have dark minds and are capable of anything to defend what they think is right. I'm probably not making much sense but this book is a must read for those who like Holocaust themed books. ”
