My name is Farzana Khan Naina, A British/Pakistani, Poetess/Writer.
As a child I used to read books any where and anytime, like climbed on a tree in our garden with a book in hot sunny afternoon, under the blanket at night (with a torch), during travels, at family or friends places while others chat etc etc,
I learnt a lot from books like I'm learning from life all the time and I don't mind to be an student forever, reading is Knowledge, escape and Enjoyment.
I have Published My First poetry book "Dard Ki Neeli Ragein" (Blue Veins Of Pain) in 2004.
My purpose of writing these Poems is to express my Feelings, preserve my memories and more than this to tell my readers how life was like for that teenage girl who came to Britain leaving her whole family and friends in Pakistan, I hope my years of observation through poems to get my fantasy and facts right has not been in vain.
There is a theme of feminism running through my poems with lots of nostalgia,
You'll find a story of struggle to survive in a society where men still rules over women.
These Poems affirms my belief that God helps those who help themselves.
I am a chair person of Nottingham Arts & Literary Society.
Co-Chair of Media and PR Committee with Nottingham Asian Arts Council.
