    i am in the middle of it, wow i'm jealous wish there was a book club around here that read murakami. the Denny's scenes are a good representation of that middle ground a place that is neither here nor there. Why do you think he has so many fast food references? (Colonel Sanders, Dennys, etc...)

    interesting point as his characters seem to exist in a realm that is neither here nor there, straddling a fence between reality and the fantastic. this could be a meditation on the internal vs the external existance of self
