What up, Scott!I LOVE Richard K. Morgan's stuff, but I couldn't get into Market Forces either and completely agree with your review of it. I felt like Morgan probably could've chopped off the first 100 pages, and couldn't stand the protagonist because of some of his choices by the time the book ended.Have you read any of China Mieville's Bas Lag stuff? Perdido Street Station and the Scar completely kick butt.
