Great book. Some chapters were challenging to get through. The book spoke to the things that parents would do for their children and perhaps how little children know about their parents.

After reading The Lovely Bones several years ago, I couldn't wait until her 2nd fiction book came out. I was disappointed. It was slow paced. I do appreciate that she tried to not tell the same story and went in a different direction but it took me awhile to finish it. I actually would have preferred less characters ( I don't think Hamish needed to be in the story) and more development of some of them.

Out of all 5 of these books, The Other Boleyn Girl is still my favorite. With this one it was hard to get into each of the charcters b/c the point of view jumped so much. I suppose there will another book about Henry's last wife, Catherine Parr.

I really enjoyed this book. I have read the first 3 books in this series and this is my 2nd favorite. I enjoyed reading about Catherine's early years and the love story with Arthur. I almost feel that is was "karma" that she would struggle with bearing children and Henry's infidelity after lying about her relationship with Arthur. I would have liked to read her point of view on the Anne Boleyn thing but the would have been way too long.

Still not as captivating as The Other Boleyn Girl, but I liked it better then The Queen's Fool.

I enjoyed this book but couldn't quite get into it like I did with The Other Boleyn Girl. I felt like this one dragged in parts.

I am so glad I read this before I saw the movie (although the movie was really good - yeah Sean Penn!) This is a dark book but so well written and it makes you keep going. Makes you think about what you will do to keep a family together, abotu revenge, about love and about who you really are inside.

I don't know why I picked up the book. I was ready to smack Becky in the head during the 2nd book. While Becky's flasw are supposed to be endearing to some extent, it didn't take with me.

I really enjoyed this book. Haing immigrant parents, I connected with Gogol's struggle of culture & traditions of his parents and his american upbringing.
