Under the Tuscan Sun is very unlike the movie. The movie was enjoyable and gave an overall idea of the book but really was vague and shallow and quite altered from the book itself. The book was for me a wonderful read full of knowledge and facts from the region in which is was set. It was a heartwarming, interesting, and well written story about dreams, new beginnings, learning other cultures and ways, and fulfillment. You will finish the book with a lot of culinary knowledge of the region, cultural peeks, and will have ridden along on a very interesting journey in someone's life. It is FULL of details and makes one feel almost as if they are there themselves. Also, if you obtain a recent version there is quite a bit on the making of the movie in the book which I enjoyed as well. I hope you will give this book a chance and I hope you enjoy it as much or more then I did! Happy Reading!
