Aspiring writer who loves to read. My reading interests vary, but I am mostly interested in African American and children's literature, which includes novels, short stories, poetry, plays, and folklore. I also have a growing interest in southern literature. I've never read a Grisham novel, so I'm trying to read one of those this year, and see what happens. I also read a bit of nonfiction every now and then, usually relating to the African American experience - slavery/Harlem Renaissance/urban life, religion, careers, women's health and other issues, biographies/memoirs.
In case you haven't heard, I will embark on a reading challenge this year - the 50 book reading challenge. I have a blog up and running, and I will 'talk' about the books I've read and what they mean to me. I'll start writing about the books I'm reading around April 1. Feel free to join me. If you want to know more, just ask!
