And hold fast, all together, by the rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude God’s favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth God make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.

notes from Mohammad asad translation
* v.103 : The simile is that of people struggling in deep water, to whom a benevolent Providence stretches out a strong and unbreakable rope of rescue. If all hold fast to it together, their mutual support adds to the chance of their safety.
* Yathrib was torn with civil and tribal feuds and dissensions before the Messenger of Allah set his feet on its soil. After that, it became the City of the Prophet, Madinah, and unmatched Brotherhood, and the pivot of Islam. This poor quarrelsome world is a larger Yathrib: can we establish the sacred feet on its soil, and make it a new and larger Madinah?

"I see you as precious gems, pure gold..."
Written by a Christian woman:
To my Muslim Sister, with Love
To My Muslim Sister.
Between the Israeli assault on Lebanon and the Zionist "war on
terror," the Muslim world is now center stage in every American
home. I see the carnage, death and destruction that have befallen
Lebanon, but I also see something else: I see you. I can't help but
notice that almost every woman I see is carrying a baby or has
children around her. I see that though they are dressed modestly,
their beauty still shines through. But it's not just outer beauty
that I notice. I also notice that I feel something strange inside me:
I feel envy. I feel terrible for the horrible experiences and
war crimes that the Lebanese people have suffered, being targeted by
our common enemy. But I can't help but admire your strength, your
beauty, your modesty, and most of all, your happiness. Yes, it's
strange, but it occurred to me that even under constant bombardment,
you still seemed happier than we are, because you were still living
the natural lives of women. The way women have always lived since
the beginning of time. It used to be that way in the West until the
1960s, when we were bombarded by the same enemy. Only we were not
bombarded with actual munitions, but with subtle trickery and moral
corruption.
They bombarded us Americans from Hollywood, instead of from fighter
jets or with our own American-made tanks. They would like to bomb
you in this way too, after they've finished bombing the
infrastructure of your countries. I do not want this to happen to
you. You will feel degraded, just like we do. You can avoid this
kind of bombing if you will kindly listen to those of us who have
already suffered serious casualties from their evil influence.
Because everything you see coming out of Hollywood is a pack of
lies, a distortion of reality, smoke and mirrors. They present
casual sex as harmless recreation because they aim to destroy the
moral fabric of the societies into which they beam their poisonous
programming. I beg you not to drink their poison. There is no
antidote for it once you have consumed it. You may recover
partially, but you will never be the same. Better to avoid the
poison altogether than to try to heal from the damage it causes.
They will try to tempt you with their titillating movies and music
videos, falsely portraying us American women as happy and satisfied,
proud of dressing like prostitutes, and content without families.
Most of us are not happy, trust me. Millions of us are on
anti-depressant medication, hate our jobs, and cry at night over the
men who told us they loved us, then greedily used us and walked
away. They would like to destroy your families and convince you to
have fewer children. They do this by presenting marriage as a form
of slavery, motherhood as a curse, and being modest and pure as
old-fashioned. They want you to cheapen yourself and lose your
faith. They are like the Serpent tempting Eve with the apple. Don't
bite.
I see you as precious gems, pure gold, or the "pearl of great value"
spoken of in the Bible (Matthew 13: 45). All women are pearls of
great value, but some of us have been deceived into doubting the
value of our purity. Jesus said: "Give not that which is holy unto
the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample
them under their feet, and turn again and rend you" (Matthew 7: 6).
Our pearls are priceless, but they convince us that they're cheap.
But trust me; there is no substitute for being able to look in the
mirror and seeing purity, innocence and self-respect staring back at
you. The fashions coming out of the Western sewer are designed to
make you believe that your most valuable asset is your sexuality.
But your beautiful dresses and veils are actually sexier than any
Western fashion, because they cloak you in mystery and show
self-respect and confidence. A woman's sexuality should be guarded
from unworthy eyes, since it should be your gift to the man who
loves and respects you enough to marry you. And since your men are
still manly warriors, they deserve no less than your best. Our men
don't even want purity anymore. They don't recognize the pearl of
great value, opting for the flashy rhinestone instead. Only to leave
her too.
Your most valuable assets are your inner beauty, your innocence, and
everything that makes you who you are. But I notice that some Muslim
women push the limit and try to be as Western as possible, even
while wearing a veil (with some of their hair showing). Why imitate
women who already regret, or will soon regret, their lost virtue?
There is no compensation for that loss. You are flawless diamonds.
Don't let them trick you into becoming rhinestones. Because
everything you see in the fashion magazines and on Western
television is a lie. It is Satan's trap. It is fool's gold.
I'll let you in on a little secret, just in case you're curious:
pre-marital sex is not even that great. We gave our bodies to the
men we were in love with, believing that that was the way to make
them love us and want to marry us. Just as we had seen on television
growing up. But without the security of marriage and the sure
knowledge that he will always stay with us, it's not even enjoyable!
That's the irony. It was just a waste. It leaves you in tears.
Speaking as one woman to another, I believe that you understand that
already. Because only a woman can truly understand what's in another
woman's heart. We really are all alike. Our race, religion or
nationalities do not matter. A woman's heart is the same everywhere.
We love. That's what we do best. We nurture our families and give
comfort and strength to the men we love. But we American women have
been fooled into believing that we are happiest having careers, our
own homes in which to live alone, and freedom to give our love away
to whomever we choose. That is not freedom. And that is not love.
Only in the safe haven of marriage can a woman's body and heart be
safe to love. Don't settle for anything less. It's not worth it. You
won't even like it and you'll like yourself even less afterwards.
Then he'll leave you.
Sin never pays. It always cheats you. Even though I have reclaimed
my honor, there's still no substitute for having never been
dishonored in the first place. We Western women have been
brainwashed into thinking that you Muslim women are oppressed. But
truly, we are the ones who are oppressed; slaves to fashions that
degrade us, obsessed with our weight, begging for love from men who
do not want to grow up. Deep down inside, we know that we have been
cheated. We secretly admire and envy you, although some of us will
not admit it. Please do not look down on us or think that we like
things the way they are. It's not our fault. Most of us did not have
fathers to protect us when we were young because our families have
been destroyed. You know who is behind this plot. Don't be fooled,
my sisters. Don't let them get you too. Stay innocent and pure. We
Christian women need to see what life is really supposed to be like
for women. We need you to set the example for us, because we are
lost. Hold onto your purity.
Remember: you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. So guard
your "toothpaste" carefully!
I hope you receive this advice in the spirit in which it is
intended: the spirit of friendship, respect, and admiration. From
your Christian sister with love.

beauty by Farid ud-Din Attar
How long then will you seek for beauty here?
Seek the unseen, and beauty will appear.
When the last veil is lifted neither men
Nor all their glory will be seen again,
The universe will fade -- this mighty show
In all its majesty and pomp will go,
And those who loved appearances will prove
Each other's enemies and forfeit love,
While those who loved the unseen Friend
Will enter that pure love which knows no end.
ISLAM THE RELIGION OF UNITY
(1) Unity of God
Islam teaches the purest form of Monotheism and regards polytheism as the deadliest sin. A Muslim addresses GOD by His Personal Name: ALLAH --- the word "god" and its equivalents in other languages being unstable in the matter of connotation. Allah, according to Islam, is the One God, who is Indivisible in Person and Who has no partner: wife, son or daughter. He is the Matchless and "naught is as His likeness". "He begetteth not, nor was He begotten". He is the First, the Last, the Eternal, the Infinite, the Almighty, the Omniscient, the Omnipresent. He is the Creator, the Nourisher, the Cherisher of all things. He is the All-just, the Avenger of the wrongs done to the weak and the oppressed, the Compassionate, the Merciful and Loving, the Guide, the Friend, the Magnificent, the Glorious, the Beautiful and the True. In short, He is the Possessor of all Excellence.
Speaking of the conception of God in Islam, Gibbon, the famous western historian, says: "The Creed of Hazrat Muhammad is free from the suspicion of Ambiguity and the Qur’an is a glorious testimony to the unity of God. The Prophet of Mecca rejected the worship of idols and men, of stars and planets, on the rational principle that whatever is corruptible must decay and perish, that whatever is born must die, that whatever rises must set. In the Author of the universe his rational enthusiasm confessed and adored an infinite and Eternal Being, without form or place, without issue or similitude, present to our secret thoughts, existing by the necessity of His own nature, and deriving from Himself all moral and intellectual perfections. These sublime truths …are defined with metaphysical precision by the interpreters of the Qur’an. A philosophic theist might subscribe to the popular creed of the Muhammadans."
(2) Unity of the Universe
From the Unity of the Creator, according to Islam, proceeds the Unity of the Universe, i.e., Unity of Creation and Unity of Purpose. In other words, the Cosmos is a Moral Order.
(3) Unity of Mankind
Islam regards the whole of mankind as an "organic unity" --- a single family, and emphatically says that the distinctions on the mundane plane, the distinctions, namely, of race, colour, language or territory, cannot form the ground for claims of superiority of one group over the other. The only distinction that has "value" is that which arises at the moral and spiritual planes – namely, the distinction of "taqwa", or, "piety and righteousness".Prof. H.A.R. Gibb, the famous English critic of Islam says, "…..Islam…..possesses a magnificent tradition of inter-racial understanding and co-operation. No other society has such a record of success in uniting in an equality of status, of opportunity and of endeavour so many and so various races of mankind… If ever the opposition of the great societies of East is to be replaced by co-operation, the mediation of Islam is an indispensable condition." (Whither Islam? p.379).
(4) Unity of Religion
According to Islam, the human intellect, though a great and powerful asset, has its natural limits, and, therefore, neither the normative nor the empirical sciences are capable of leading humanity to a sure knowledge of ultimate truths and the code of life based upon them. The only source of sure knowledge open to humanity is, consequently, Divine Guidance, and that course has been actually open ever since the beginnings of human life on earth. Allah raised His "Prophets" and "Messengers" and revealed His Guidance to them for transmission to humanity. Coming from the same Source, all revealed religions have, therefore, been one, i.e., ISLAM.
Allah's Prophets and Messengers continued to come to every country and community to work in their respective limited fields. Time after time, the revealed Guidance was either lost or corrupted through human interpolation, and new Prophets with fresh Dispensations were sent, and humanity continued to advance from infancy to maturity. At last, when the stage of maturity was reached – when humanity was practically to become one family --- instead of sectional Guidance, a perfect, final and abiding Revelation, addressed to entire mankind and for all time, was granted in the seventh century of the Christian era. That Revelation, which recapitulates all former Revelations and thus sets a seal on the Unity of Religion, is ISLAM; the Scripture which enshrines it is the HOLY QUR’AN; and the Prophet who brought it is the Leader of Humanity, Hazrat Muhammad (Allah bless him!).Thus all the Prophets of God, from Adam down to Hazrat Noah, Hazrat Abraham, Hazrat Moses and Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon them all), are the Prophets of a Muslim the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him!) being the Last and Final one, and all the Divine Scriptures are the Scriptures of a Muslim, though he follows only the Holy Qur’an because it alone exists in its original purity and it alone contains the religion of Islam which has been followed by all rightly-guided people since the day the first human being came into existence.
(5) Unity of Sexes
Differentiation of functions have misled certain cultures of the world to regard woman as a being who belongs, so to say, to a different and inferior species: and to meet out to her inhuman treatment accordingly. Islam emphatically repudiates that notion and teaches that both man and woman have sprung from the same essence and the same source and consequently possess the same human status. Their functions and interests, instead of being antagonistic, are meant to be mplementary. The natural relation between the sexes, in all its aspects, is therefore, that of love and harmony, without which no true human progress can be possible.
(6) Unity of Classes
Islam aims at the creation of a classless society by eliminating all possible social conflicts (through revolving the different interests).
In the sphere of economics, Islam lays down the principle that wealth should not be allowed to circulate among the wealthy only, and envisages, through its laws and institutions, a "Cooperative Common-wealth of Talents".
In the political sphere, Islam stands for the "Cooperative Commonwealth of the Pursuers of Righteousness".
Taken as a whole, the Islamic state is a "welfare state" where sovereignty belongs to Allah alone and no human being has a right to govern other human beings except in the name of Allah and according to His Will, and where nobody, not even the Head of the State, is above the law. Absolute Justice is the watchword and the Establishment of Righteousness is the goal.
The merits of Islam’s social ethics have elicited praise even from the otherwise hostile critics. For instance:H.G. Wells says: "Islam created a society more free from widespread cruelty and social oppression than any society that had ever been in the world before" (Outline of History, p.325).
H.A.R. Gibb says: "Within the Western world Islam still maintains the balance between exaggerated opposities. Opposed equally to the anarchy of European nationalism and the regimentation of Russian communism, it has not yet succumbed to that obsession with the economic side of life which is characteristic of present-day Russia alike." (Whither Islam? p.378).
Prof. Louis Massignon says: "Islam has the merit of standing for a very equalitarian conception… It occupies an intermediate position between the doctrines of bourgeois capitalism and Bolshevist communism." (Whither Islam? p.378).
(7) Unity of Human Activity
Islam conceives of the human personality as a "unity" and consequently regards the distinction of "secular" and "religious" as unscientific, irrational and absurd. The life of a Muslim, both in its individual and social manifestation, is a life lived for God and God alone.
"Islam," says Dudley Wright, scholar of Comparative Religion, "is no mere creed; it is a life to be lived. In the Qur’an may be found directions for what are sometimes termed the minor details of daily life, but which are not minor when it is considered that life has to be lived for God. The Muslim lives for God alone. The aim of the Muslim is to become God-bound, and to endeavour to advance the knowledge of God in all his undertakings. From the cradle to the grave the true Muslim lives for God and God alone."

*a companion of Paradise!
Hadhrat Abdul Waahid Bin Zaid (rahmatullahi alayh) narrates: “ On three nights in succession I supplicated to Allah Ta`ala to show me the person who will be my close companion in Jannat (paradise). I was informed (by way of ilhaam): ‘O Abdul Waahid! Your companion in Jannat will be Maimoonah Saudaa.’ I supplicated to be informed of her whereabouts. It was inspired to me that she was a member of a certain tribe in Kufaa.
I set off for Kufaa. When I reached there, I met members of her tribe and made enquiries about her. I was told that she was a mad woman tending to goats in the forest. When I reached the place shown to me, I saw a woman engaged in Salaat. A wonderful scene met my eyes. Among the grazing goats were some wolves just as docile as the goats. Neither did the wolves attack the goats nor were the goats scared of the wolves. I made Salaam and she quickly ended her Salaat. As she completed her Salaat, she said: ‘O Ibn Zaid! Go away now. This is not the promised time.’ (the date is in Paradise, not here)I said: ‘Who informed you that I am Ibn Zaid?’
She said: ‘Do you not know that according to the Hadith of the prophet, salla allahu alayhi wa sallam, all the armies of the souls had once been assembled together. Those who recognised one another in that realm have a mutual affection in this world while those who had developed no affinity there, remain strangers even here?’
I said: ‘Give me some naseehat (advice)’
She said: ‘Allah Ta`ala eliminates the love of solitude with Him and His Proximity from a person who engrosses in the pursuit of a worldly bounty which Allah Ta`ala had bestowed to him. Allah Ta`ala puts a wild fear (wahshat)in his heart.’
I asked: ‘How do the goats and wolves live in harmony?’
She said: ‘Be gone! Don’t ask such questions. I have made peace with my Maula (Friend, master, Allah Ta`ala). He has thus created harmony between the goats and the wolves.’”
Excerpt from "Orchards of Love"
REMEMBERING ALLAH THROUGH HIS THREE THOUSAND NAMES:
It is mentioned in Tafseer Roohul Bayaan that Allaamah Sayyid Haqqi (RA) said that Allah Ta'ala has three thousand names. He revealed one thousand to the angels, one thousand to the ambiya(AS), three hundred are mentioned in the Toraah, three hundred in the Zaboor, three hundred in the Injeel, and ninety-nine in the Holy Qur'aan. One Name He has kept to Himself; He revealed it to no one. Also, He has condensed all His names into the three names contained in Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem. They are Allah, Rahmaan and Raheem. Any person saying Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem; it is as though he has remembered Allah by all His names.
*the reward of 70 000 "Iaa-ilaaha-illallah" and its virtue:
In a Hadeeth it is mentioned that when a person recites "Iaa-ilaaha-illallah" (= no god but Allah) 70 000 times, he is grantedsalvation from the Fire (Jahannam).
Hadhrat Moulana Hakeem Akhtar Sabeb (Daamat-Barakaatuhum) says that the person who reads it and even the person for whom it was recited, all are granted immunity from the Fire. If a person recites 70 000 times "Laa-laaha-illailah' and confers it's rewards to any particular deceased person, the deceased will also be granted.salvation from Jahannam.
Mullah Ali Qaari (Rahmatullahi-Alayhi) relates an incident in his book "Mirqaat " (The commentary of
Mishkaat Shareef). Sheikh Muhinudeen ibn Al-'Arabee says:' This Hadeeth has reached me from
Nabi (sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam), where it is mentioned': " The person who recites 70 000 (times)"Laa-ilaaha-illallah" will be forgiven and the person for whom it is read will also be forgiven".
Sheikh Mubinudeen says that he used to recite the 70 000 "Laa-ilaaha-illallah' several times,
as his usual Zikr, without the intention of conferring the reward to any person.
He says : 'Once, I was invited for meals by someone and among the guests there was a young boy,who was renown for his " Kashf " (Divine inspiration). Suddenly, whilst eating, this youth began wailing loudly. I asked " Why are you crying ", he replied : " I can see my mother being punished ". The Sheikh continues, " I conferred one amount of 70 000 "Laa-ilaaha-illallah". in my heart, without moving MY lips and tongue, to the youth's mother ".
The youth now began laughing and happily exclaimed : " Now I see my mother in a very good condition (in Jannah)". The Sheikh explains that I- realised the authenticity of the Hadeeth by this youth's Kashf "and also thereby proved the veracity of his " Kashf " by this Hadeeth.
A simple method of completing the 70 000 "Laa-ilaaha-illallah"
Recite at least 500 times "Laa-ilaaha-illallah" daily, i.e. 100 times after each salaah. Over five months this will amount to 75 000 times. Thereafter confer 70 000 "Iaa-ilaaha-illallah" to any deceased person and make a record of who you have conferred it to. In this manner, two deceased people will benefit every ten months, without diminishing your reward in the least. The remaining 5000, every month, may be recorded separately and within fourteen months a further 70 000 will accrue to one's credit, which would benefit yet another person.

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint, (2:183)holy Quran.
Prophet Muhammad(salla allahu alayhi wa sallam) 's Sermon about Ramadan,
A Sermon On The Last Friday Of Sha'ban On The Reception Of The Month of Ramadan.
"O People ! Indeed ahead of you is the blessed month of Allah. A month of blessing, mercy and forgiveness. A month which with Allah is the best of months. Its days, the best of days, its nights, the best of nights, and its hours, the best of hours. It is the month which invites you to be the guests of Allah and invites you to be one of those near to Him. Each breath you take glorifies him; your sleep is worship, your deeds are accepted and your supplications are answered. So, ask Allah, your Lord; to give you a sound body and an enlightened heart so you may be able to fast and recite his book, for only he is unhappy who is devoid of Allah's forgiveness during this great month. Remember the hunger and thirst of the day of Qiyamah (Judgement) with your hunger and thirst; give alms to the needy and poor, honour your old, show kindness to the young ones, maintain relations with your blood relations; guard your tongues, close your eyes to that which is not permissible for your sight, close your ears to that which is forbidden to hear, show compassion to the orphans of people, so compassion may be shown to your orphans. Repent to Allah for your sins and raise your hands in dua during these times, for they are the best of times and Allah looks towards his creatures with kindness, replying to them during the hours and granting their needs if he is asked ...
"O People! Indeed your souls are dependant on your deeds, free it with Istighfar (repentance) lighten its loads by long prostrations; and know that Allah swears by his might: That there is no punishment for the one who prays and prostrates and he shall have no fear of the fire on the day when man stands before the Lord of the worlds.
"O People! One who gives Iftaar to a fasting person during this month will be like one who has freed someone and his past sins will be forgiven. Some of the people who were there then asked the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam): "Not all of us are able to invite those who are fasting?"
The Prophet replied: "Allah gives this reward even if the Iftaar (meal) is a drink of water." "One who has good morals (Akhlaq) during this month will be able to pass the 'Siraat' ... on the day that feet will slip ... "One who covers the faults of others will benefit in that Allah will curb His anger on the day of Judgement ... "As for one who honour an orphan; Allah will honour him on the day of judgement, "And for the one who spreads his kindness, Allah will spread His mercy over him on the day of Judgement. "As for the one who cuts the ties of relation; Allah will cut His mercy from him ... "Who so ever performs a recommended prayer in this month Allah will keep the fire of Hell away from him ... "Whoever performs an obligatory prayer Allah will reward him with seventy prayers [worth] in this month. "And who so ever prays a lot during this month will have his load lightened on the day of measure. "He who recites one verse of the Holy Quran will be given the rewards of reciting the whole Quran during other months. "O People! Indeed during this month the doors of heaven are open, therefore ask Allah not to close them for you; The doors of hell are closed, so ask Allah to keep them closed for you. During this month Shaytan (Satan) is imprisoned so ask your Lord not to let him have power over you."

Without Love's garment the soul
Lives naked in disgrace;
Better never to have lived at all.
Be drunk in Love,
For only Love exists.
Only Love's transaction
Will bring you to the One.
If they ask you, "What is Love?"
Tell them, "Surrendering free will,
Only in escaping freedom
Can freedom be found."
The lover is an emperor
With both worlds scattered over him,
Indifferent to them both.
Love and lover endure for all eternity;
Set your heart on this,
The rest is merely borrowed.
Forget the dead you embrace;
Embrace the unembraceable.
The rose of spring arrives with thorns,
The wine of spring
Comes with a hangover
All that spring gives birth to dies in autumn;
But Love's garden and its fullness
Does not depend upon the spring.
Don't be a bystander on this path,
By God, no death is worse than that expectancy.
Set your heart upon true gold,
Unless your heart is fool's gold;
Lend your ear,
Unless your ear is pierced with slavery.
Don't take the trembling body as your mount;
Go a lighter way;
God's love gives wings.
--------------
My Plea
I come to You with solitary heart
Nearing lifelessness
Eyes closed, soul scarred
Pleas pouring, begging of Your Almightiness
All others are without powers
You are my only real Truth
Help me, Guide me before darkness devours
All pureness of youth
Make my heart smile once again
Just like the time i first knew You
Cleanse me, leaving not a single stain
Bring me back to life, make my being subdue
I'll cry tears of overwhelming delight
Intertwined with drops of fear
Finding its way to my mouth, fuel to recite
Your Words, with Your Guidance i'll persevere
My own words will never be sufficient
To thank You for all blessings bestowed
Truly Merciful, Truly Omniscient
You are the Only One Who can help me to reach The Blessed Abode.

‘CALL IT AS IT IS!’
“It has now become clear to all reflective people that we are at the end of an age. We are in a perilous time. A barzakh. As the poet said: “One world dying – another powerless to be born.” It is not a time for action. It is not, either, a time for withdrawal. Neither a time to fight in the streets nor to retreat to the mountain. The first necessity of our time is clarification. It is a time to return to the sources. The first necessity is not only to call things by their proper names, but consciously to connect the thing to its name, the action to its name, the reality to its name. In this totalitarian age called – so wrongly – democratic, men are not free, nor do people rule. It is the age of the police, with the police in turn policed by ‘security’ police who assure, not to the masses but to the totalitarian elite, their ‘security’ – that is, the continued enslavement of starving and half-starving mankind.” SHAYKH DR. ABDALQADIR AS-SUFI

عابرون في كلام عابر
Passers through a Passing Talk
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
احملوا أسمائكم وانصرفوا
Carry your names and be gone
وأسحبوا ساعاتكم من وقتنا ،و أنصرفوا
Pull your hours from our time, and be gone
وخذوا ما شئتم من زرقة البحر و رمل الذاكرة
Take whatever you want from the blue of the sea and from the sand of memory
و خذوا ما شئتم من صور،كي تعرفوا
And take whatever you want from pictures, so that you know
انكم لن تعرفوا
That you will never know
كيف يبني حجر من ارضنا سقف السماء
How a stone from our land builds the rooftop of the sky
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
منكم السيف - ومنا دمنا
From you... swords, from us... our blood
منكم الفولاذ والنار- ومنا لحمنا
From you... steel and fire, from us... our flesh
منكم دبابة اخرى- ومنا حجر
From you... another tank, from us.. a stone
منكم قنبلة الغاز - ومنا المطر
From you... a gas bomb, from us... rain
وعلينا ما عليكم من سماء وهواء
We have what you have from sky and air
فخذوا حصتكم من دمنا وانصرفوا
So take your share from our blood, and be gone
وادخلوا حفل عشاء راقص..و انصرفوا
Go to a ball dance and dinner, and be gone
وعلينا ،نحن، ان نحرس ورد الشهداء
And we, have to, guard the roses of martyrs
و علينا ،نحن، ان نحيا كما نحن نشاء
And we, have to, live as we wish to live
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
كالغبار المر مروا اينما شئتم ولكن
Like dust, pass among us wherever you want, only...
لا تمروا بيننا كالحشرات الطائرة
Don't pass amongst us like flying insects
فلنا في ارضنا ما نعمل
For we have what to work in our land
و لنا قمح نربيه و نسقيه ندى اجسادنا
We have wheat to rise, and water it the dew of our bodies
و لنا ما ليس يرضيكم هنا
We have here what displeases you
حجر.. او خجل
A stone... or modesty
فخذوا الماضي،اذا شئتم الى سوق التحف
So take the past if you wish to the antiqu market
و اعيدوا الهيكل العظمي للهدهد، ان شئتم
And return the skeleton for the hoopoe. if you wish
على صحن خزف
On a pottry plate
لنا ما ليس يرضيكم ،لنا المستقبل ولنا في ارضنا ما نعمل
Ours what displeases you, ours is the future, and we have what to work in our land
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابره
You passing through passing words..!
كدسوا اوهامكم في حفرة مهجورة ، وانصرفوا
Pile up your illusions in a barren hole, and be gone
واعيدوا عقرب الوقت الى شرعية العجل المقدس
And return the hand of time to the legitimacy of the sacred calf
او الى توقيت موسيقى مسدس
Or, to the timing of the music of the pistol
فلنا ما ليس يرضيكم هنا ، فانصرفوا
For we have here what displeases you, so be gone
ولنا ما ليس فيكم : وطن ينزف و شعبا ينزف
And we have what's not in you: a bleeding home and bleeding people
وطنا يصلح للنسيان او للذاكرة
A home that is good for forgetting or for remembrance
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
آن ان تنصرفوا
It's time for you to be gone
وتقيموا اينما شئتم ولكن لا تقيموا بيننا
To live wherever you wish, only don't live amongst us
آن ان تنصرفوا
It's time for you to be gone
ولتموتوا اينما شئتم ولكن لا تموتو بيننا
And to die wherever you wish, only don't die amongst us
فلنا في ارضنا مانعمل
For we have what to work in our land
ولنا الماضي هنا

ولنا صوت الحياة الاول
And ours is the first sound of life
ولنا الحاضر،والحاضر ، والمستقبل

God made the illusion look real

beauty by Farid ud-Din Attar

Lives naked in disgrace;
Better never to have lived at all.
Be drunk in Love,
For only Love exists.
Only Love's transaction
Will bring you to the One.
If they ask you, "What is Love?"
Tell them, "Surrendering free will,
Only in escaping freedom
Can freedom be found."
The lover is an emperor
With both worlds scattered over him,
Indifferent to them both.
Love and lover endure for all eternity;
Set your heart on this,
The rest is merely borrowed.
Forget the dead you embrace;
Embrace the unembraceable.
The rose of spring arrives with thorns,
The wine of spring
Comes with a hangover
All that spring gives birth to dies in autumn;
But Love's garden and its fullness
Does not depend upon the spring.
Don't be a bystander on this path,
By God, no death is worse than that expectancy.
Set your heart upon true gold,
Unless your heart is fool's gold;
Lend your ear,
Unless your ear is pierced with slavery.
Don't take the trembling body as your mount;
Go a lighter way;
God's love gives wings.
--------------
My Plea
I come to You with solitary heart
Nearing lifelessness
Eyes closed, soul scarred
Pleas pouring, begging of Your Almightiness
All others are without powers
You are my only real Truth
Help me, Guide me before darkness devours
All pureness of youth
Make my heart smile once again
Just like the time i first knew You
Cleanse me, leaving not a single stain
Bring me back to life, make my being subdue
I'll cry tears of overwhelming delight
Intertwined with drops of fear
Finding its way to my mouth, fuel to recite
Your Words, with Your Guidance i'll persevere
My own words will never be sufficient
To thank You for all blessings bestowed
Truly Merciful, Truly Omniscient
You are the Only One Who can help me to reach The Blessed Abode.

‘CALL IT AS IT IS!’
“It has now become clear to all reflective people that we are at the end of an age. We are in a perilous time. A barzakh. As the poet said: “One world dying – another powerless to be born.” It is not a time for action. It is not, either, a time for withdrawal. Neither a time to fight in the streets nor to retreat to the mountain. The first necessity of our time is clarification. It is a time to return to the sources. The first necessity is not only to call things by their proper names, but consciously to connect the thing to its name, the action to its name, the reality to its name. In this totalitarian age called – so wrongly – democratic, men are not free, nor do people rule. It is the age of the police, with the police in turn policed by ‘security’ police who assure, not to the masses but to the totalitarian elite, their ‘security’ – that is, the continued enslavement of starving and half-starving mankind.” SHAYKH DR. ABDALQADIR AS-SUFI

عابرون في كلام عابر
Passers through a Passing Talk
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
احملوا أسمائكم وانصرفوا
Carry your names and be gone
وأسحبوا ساعاتكم من وقتنا ،و أنصرفوا
Pull your hours from our time, and be gone
وخذوا ما شئتم من زرقة البحر و رمل الذاكرة
Take whatever you want from the blue of the sea and from the sand of memory
و خذوا ما شئتم من صور،كي تعرفوا
And take whatever you want from pictures, so that you know
انكم لن تعرفوا
That you will never know
كيف يبني حجر من ارضنا سقف السماء
How a stone from our land builds the rooftop of the sky
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
منكم السيف - ومنا دمنا
From you... swords, from us... our blood
منكم الفولاذ والنار- ومنا لحمنا
From you... steel and fire, from us... our flesh
منكم دبابة اخرى- ومنا حجر
From you... another tank, from us.. a stone
منكم قنبلة الغاز - ومنا المطر
From you... a gas bomb, from us... rain
وعلينا ما عليكم من سماء وهواء
We have what you have from sky and air
فخذوا حصتكم من دمنا وانصرفوا
So take your share from our blood, and be gone
وادخلوا حفل عشاء راقص..و انصرفوا
Go to a ball dance and dinner, and be gone
وعلينا ،نحن، ان نحرس ورد الشهداء
And we, have to, guard the roses of martyrs
و علينا ،نحن، ان نحيا كما نحن نشاء
And we, have to, live as we wish to live
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
كالغبار المر مروا اينما شئتم ولكن
Like dust, pass among us wherever you want, only...
لا تمروا بيننا كالحشرات الطائرة
Don't pass amongst us like flying insects
فلنا في ارضنا ما نعمل
For we have what to work in our land
و لنا قمح نربيه و نسقيه ندى اجسادنا
We have wheat to rise, and water it the dew of our bodies
و لنا ما ليس يرضيكم هنا
We have here what displeases you
حجر.. او خجل
A stone... or modesty
فخذوا الماضي،اذا شئتم الى سوق التحف
So take the past if you wish to the antiqu market
و اعيدوا الهيكل العظمي للهدهد، ان شئتم
And return the skeleton for the hoopoe. if you wish
على صحن خزف
On a pottry plate
لنا ما ليس يرضيكم ،لنا المستقبل ولنا في ارضنا ما نعمل
Ours what displeases you, ours is the future, and we have what to work in our land
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابره
You passing through passing words..!
كدسوا اوهامكم في حفرة مهجورة ، وانصرفوا
Pile up your illusions in a barren hole, and be gone
واعيدوا عقرب الوقت الى شرعية العجل المقدس
And return the hand of time to the legitimacy of the sacred calf
او الى توقيت موسيقى مسدس
Or, to the timing of the music of the pistol
فلنا ما ليس يرضيكم هنا ، فانصرفوا
For we have here what displeases you, so be gone
ولنا ما ليس فيكم : وطن ينزف و شعبا ينزف
And we have what's not in you: a bleeding home and bleeding people
وطنا يصلح للنسيان او للذاكرة
A home that is good for forgetting or for remembrance
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة
You passing through passing words..!
آن ان تنصرفوا
It's time for you to be gone
وتقيموا اينما شئتم ولكن لا تقيموا بيننا
To live wherever you wish, only don't live amongst us
آن ان تنصرفوا
It's time for you to be gone
ولتموتوا اينما شئتم ولكن لا تموتو بيننا
And to die wherever you wish, only don't die amongst us
فلنا في ارضنا مانعمل
For we have what to work in our land
ولنا الماضي هنا
And ours is the past, here
ولنا صوت الحياة الاول
And ours is the first sound of life
ولنا الحاضر،والحاضر ، والمستقبل
And ours is the present, the present, and the future
ولنا الدنيا هنا...و الاخرة
And ours is the world, here,... and the afterlife
فاخرجوا من ارضنا
So leave our land
من برنا ..من بحرنا
For our ground... from our sea
من قمحنا ..من ملحنا ..من جرحنا
From our whear... from our salt... from our wound
من كل شيء،واخرجوا
From everything, and leave
من ذكريات الذاكرة
From the memories of memory
ايها المارون بين الكلمات العابرة!..
You passing through passing words..!
