I'm a 31 year-old stay-at-home mom (one daughter). I have a degree in English Literature and I am studying for a Master's in Library and Information Science.

I'm a very picky reader -- borderline snobby, perhaps. But if I'm going to invest time in a book, I want it to be a quality read. That said, I've read a bit of trash,...more »

This book haunted me while I read it. I couldn't shake the mood when I put it down. It took a while after finishing it for the feel of the book to lift. It's not a literary masterpiece, but it's thoroughly entertaining and very scary. (I'm an easy scare, though.)

There is no way to describe this book and do it justice. You just have to open it and start reading. One of my favourite pieces of fiction, as well.

I couldn't put this book down. (I actually bought one of those clippy book-lights so I could read while my husband was sleeping.) And the climax of this book actually scared me. SCARED. ME. Like, nail-biting, nerve-wracking scared me.

    Read this book. Read it.

I think I was about twelve when I read this book during my summer break. I remember being spellbound.

I didn't know there was a sequel coming out next month!!! I'm going to have to reread this book so I can read the sequel!

This book made me cry right from the start. It was so well-written and engaging. The subject matter is a little grim, but Brooks makes it beautiful and heart-breaking. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

I thought this book was really well crafted. It's a very unusual story and I really appreciated Tepper's usage of pre-existing tales create her intricately woven plot and message.[br/][br/]I can see how some people might think it's on the pedantic side, but I was willing to forgive it because the message is an important one. [br/][br/]I have to say, I nearly stopped reading after the first transition from one time period to another. I wasn't expecting it and it felt a little jarring. But I'm stayed with it. This book was really good,

These books are expertly written, thoroughly entertaining, and utterly impossible to put down. I'm so glad I started them after all three had been published -- it would have been really hard to wait between books for the next publication.
