    Hi sheryll,
I love historical novels, I have seen films or read most of the classics such as Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility, Jayne Ayre, Northhanger Abbey, etc.

No, I didn't ask, it didn't occur to me. I wasn't aware there are issues around that. Do you know of any? I think it's just like using a name of someone in a newspaper article or an opinion piece. I think it's different if you create a fictional character and use a real person's name.

    Cheers, Jan

P.S.: I agree, Canada does rock!

What do you think of The Birth of Venus? I see you've read it, and I'm thinking of getting it.
What is your opinion on the plot?

Also, how did you enjoy Wuthering Heights? Its one of my favorites, along with Jane Eyre.
I love the rich phrases like I Love My Murderer and the eerie scene where Heathcliff must see
Catherine's face again, so he has her grave dug up.

I remember being so angry about Umbridge's destroying the Room of Requirement too. I watched all the HP movies again after I read all the books..... The producers should stick to the original story - it's the best.

    Hello She,

I just opened Shelfari.... The past weeks have been really hectic. Parents are visiting, Paul's periodical exams, also at work - we got new projects in Dubai so my thoughts are filled with furniture most of the time :-) I envy your travels! The family is planning to go to Camiguin for some R&R in September. It's a long-delayed vacation....I hope nothing at work will keep me from doing it.

When I read Frank MacCourt's death, I read Angela's Ashes again. I've read it many years ago and I was glad to see my copy is still in the shelves. My cousin in NY has been putting off reading it - she read a few pages and was put off by the heavy plot. When Frank died, she finally read the book. She said she should've read it a long time ago. Hahahahaha. Right.

Oh, don't worry... I'm back to book-land. Finished the 3 Lord of the Rings in 5 days! That was a marathon. Then A Girl with Pearl Earrings by Tracy Chevalier and Paolo Coelho's Eleven Minutes. I'm now reading The Epic of Gilgamesh....... I've been looking for the Magic Tree House, but couldn't find it here in Cebu.

I hope you and Morgan are well. The husband too. :-) Take care!

wow, you're reading Jane Eyre.. I heard a lot of good feedback about that book and of course that was written by Charlotte, so I guess that is only natural,... Well me, I'm still stack with the book that I still read 2 months a go.. I miss vacation days, when I can read books, watch television programs and listen to musics... Actually with the work I have I don;t have time to do anything I did before, I don't have time to read... I miss reading.. how I wish God would give me 1 week of rest but still with pay from my work..hahahaha..
well always take care my friend... :) I miss you..

Lots of love and hugs for you!!!!
