I have only read Sula. It only took me a couple of hours but I did find it a bit strange.
I always mark up which ones I have read so you should be able to keep an eyeon the ones I have read. I have just finished Sula by Toni Morrison and started Vox by Nicholson Baker. Vox is a strange book about an erotic phone call between two strangers. Not sure if I like it or not yet.
Confederacy of Dunces is very, very funny. I suppose that some people wouldn't like it, but I can't imagine it. It is, as Lowell, a very "unusual" tale. I personally never stopped laughing for the whole book. Don't read just a chapter to make up your mind, although that was all it took me; it may take you a little longer, that's all.
you asked about Confederacy of Dunces (i got an email, but don't find your question on my page ... oh well). answer: yes. it is not only an extremely "unusual" tale, but has a history that is "uncommon". the author himself was quite the personality. my best friend hated it. but i don't hold that against him (much). maybe it's like lamb, there's those that love it and those that don't.
