i was born with a reading list I will never finish. when i buy a book, its not only 12 ounces of paper and ink and glue - i buy a whole new life.

Reading takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere.”

Glad to hear from you. Especially glad you bounced back. I used to like Allende, but somehow lost touch with her works.
Here, it's all work and no play, I'm afraid. Although, last Wednesday, Rob and I went to Amsterdam for a visit to the Van Gogh Museum. Wonderful, as always.
Am now reading the latest John le Carré, but slowly, very slowly.
Did you move house, by the way? Seem to remember your home town was a different one. But maybe I'm mistaken.
    Take care, keep well, Josee-]

Hi Sanchita, Hope you are well, or better at least. Still resting your eyes, or reading so voraciously once more, that you don´t have time for Shelfari?
Just as long as you´re doing okay...

Hope you'll find your balance soon, and feel happy again - not just for the sake of all those books that are lying about disconsolately, but for yours and your family's.
    Do take care, Josee-]

    Hi Sanchita,
Sorry to ignore you for so long. We had a renovation at home, so that I couldn't use my computer for a while. Also, I'm working out of home again, four days a week, which tends to upset things as they were.
    Hope you are well?
    Take care, Josee-]

    hi Sanchita,
Awfully nice of you to drop a note! Just checked out your shelf. Am equally surprised by the number of books we have in common. Was real kicked to see some of my favs there.

Good luck with your 50 book challenge!

About translated fiction, i could recommend a few titles. New Horizon Media, a publishing house based in Chennai recently started translating Tamil fiction under the banner of Indian Writing. One of the publishers happens to be a friend of mine... (which should explain the big number of translated tamil fiction books in my shelf!) Do check out http://www.nhm.in/imprint/Indian%20Writing

Paulo Coelho. hmmm... I stopped reading his works. They started sounding cliched and repetitive after a point!

Happy reading to you too! :)
