    Hey Sam,

Wow, it has been such a long time since I was on this site and therefore since I last talked to you.
How are you?? What was it like in first year university here in Vancouver?
I got back from my 1st year at Mt. Allision mid-April and have been working my but off to make money to go to Europe this month since then.
I hope things are going well for you.
Let me know if you want to meet up for coffee or something in the comming months.

Yeah for sure backpacking there would be great.
The only thing you have to worry about is that everything is closed from 1-3 everyday while the entire country eats lunch :P
I will let you know for sure, I was a big Mission Impossible fan so I think I will like this one. Though I'm not sure... I don't really like her either, not sure what it is but there is just something about her. She looks like a fish, but I like fish so it can't be that.
Right now I'm reading the second book in the Earth's children series. I read a lot when I was over in Italy but nothing amazing.
Summers been pretty good though right now I'm working 6 days a week so I don't have much of a life.
I got an eReader though which I was a little iffy on but now I am addicted to, once I found a site for free ebooks though which took forever!!
I leave on the first? When do you start school?
How are things in your world? Hope their good

Italy was totally spectacular though I can understand why the countries economy is in ruins. It happens when no one does anything except eat and relax. We past hundreds of construction sites and serious I never saw one person actually doing anything productive.
That sucks you can't come. I still have family days too, or my mom gets all sad because she feels we do not spend enough time together.
I haven't seen Inception, I think I will though so far I've only heard good things, when I first saw the add though I thought it looked pretty stupid. I want to see SALT too, that looks good.
I think Italian was a good choice, it's so cool how there was a council to decide which dialog of Italian everyone in the country would speak.

    Hey Sam :)
Sorry I took me so long to reply I was in Italy.
How have things been with you?? Did you decide on a language.
I will definetly put "The Magicians" on my books to read though it might take me a while to get to it cause right now I'm reading Jean M. Auel's "The Earth's Children" series which as you know is super long and chock full of details.
Are you going to Rachel's fireworks thing on Saturday??

Hope to see you soon :)

Oh my goodness, Salish and Algonquain of course wow I am such an idiot some times.
Yeah, I'm starting to agree with you on the fact that you might never use Salish. Unless of course you are considering a career in politics, aboriginal relations, or any other profession that would put you into direct contact with that particular native american tribe.
Next year I'm just taking some basics: introduction to the principals of literary analysis, anthropology, intro to eastern religions, greek and classical mythology will replace the first one if a spot opens up.
I wish I had taken your law exam it sounds like it would be really entertaining. Ours was Mr.McDonald pretending to own a gossip magazine on Collingwood, it was pretty funny.

Yeah I totally agree about her voice!! Plus she is just so fun to watch act she always plays such funny characters. 500 days of summer had such a great soundtrack I was really impressed.
Hmm... If it was up to me I would do Salish. Italian is so similar to French that even though it would be easy I don't think it would be all that interesting. Salish on the other hand has totally different language roots so if you learn it then if you ever needed in your life to learn a language similar to it (I'm not quite sure what is similar to Salish) then that would make it easier. Plus when else are you going to get the opportunity to learn Salish. Italian you could pick up just by living in the country for a while. I have no opinion on Algonquian I'm not even sure I know where people speak it :)
    Good luck picking your language.
I just wrote the Law exam. Mr. McDonald is insane :P
On my way there though the traffic was so bad that my dad dropped me off on the other side of the damn cause we were never going to make it to school in time otherwise and then I walked across scaled a almost verticle slope to take a short cut and then jumped the fence at the back of the parking lot.
It's been a while since the last time I jumped a fence, I forgot how invigorating it is. Note to self, jump fences more often.

I was so sad you weren't at Rachels so was everyone else :(
You missed some good times Sasha managed to get lost getting to the restraunt that is 2 blocks from her house and ending up on Lonsdale.
    So special.
Oh yeah I am totally at the Meh stage, I find that riding transit too much also produces a similar feeling.
I totally know the series you are talking about, I saw a preview for it and it looked pretty good. Is it??
Is she really the sister? That explains why she made a cameo appearance as Bones' cousin in one of the episodes. Little known fact she is the lead singer in the band She and Him. They were at Sasquatch this year and I saw them. She has a beautiful voice and is so cute to watch she bounces around the stage like she is four its really funny.
If you don't stress over your course loads then I won't stress over exams. It's pointless to do either, I'm already into my university so my marks don't matter and your not really going to know if you like the course until you try it out in September so you might as well just relax and drink pink lemonade this summer. Maybe the sun will help out with your membranes :)

Thanks Sam :) I love your comments they always make me smile.
It sucks that your head hurts, whenever I can't read I always get really antsy and agitated until I find a book again.
Yeah I am really excited for Mount A. the town is so small its really funny but they have an on campus library, off campus one, and two book stores so I think I'll be fine.
I totally agree with the whole learning a bit of everything you can it just makes conversations so much more interesting and gives you a more educated view on the world.
I'm finding it a bit hard to get motivated for studying for exams right now. I know I really should be doing it but I just don't feel the pressure to do so this year. I love that feeling of relief your talking about though, it's especially great after APs are done.
Sasquatch was amazing!! As always I'm not going to listen to any music today though I just need a break and hear the silence.
I'm seeing the twins this weekend again which is exciting, have you seen anyone lately that we used to hang out with?

As much as your life style is the one of my dreams (minus the hard drugs of course :P) things have been pretty quite on my end too. I've decided on Mount Allison for university and next weekend I'm gunna go and visit the campus. After that I'm going to Sasquatch for the music festival with Sasha. Then exams start up again and I'm back to studying of course, the joys of life. Are you going to enter into a field related to theoretical physics or maybe this topic is just some light reading on the side :)
I wish I had time to do the reading you are and the writing of course but grade 12 is pretty busy right now as it winds up. I went to the Lifers Lunch the other day and it was really funny looking back at all the pictures of my grade when we were younger :)

You were right English was really easy accept that the compare and contrast essay was on a poem and an article on cargo ships. Could they seriously come up with nothing better :P
I hope that your crises aren't that big and that you push through them :)
I am definitely going to look all those books up right now.
My book spell is better now, I'm reading the biography of Catherine the Great right now for Psych and it is really good, though kinda creepy at some parts I am so glad I was not born in Russia at that time the things they did to women were just so terrible.
What have you been doing this year for fun?

I'm working two part times though so there hasn't been a lot of time for reading
I'm toying with reading Dan Brown's Deception Point again and can't decide weather I want to read the last Eragon book.
Have you read it? It's probably not your style :)
Did you see My Sister's Keeper the movie version??

Sorry for the delayed response. My daughter got married last weekend and things got hectic!

It is interesting to hear your experience on health care. In America's ever evolving demand to have everything handed to them, most have no idea what the consequences of UHC (Universal Health Care) will be. I have seen Holland's health care system first hand and it frightened me. This was way before there was any discussion of US moving towards UHC. Is our system perfect? By no means, but to completely shift the paradigm simply because you don't like the current system is ridiculous. I always point to the VA (Veterans Administration) system as the closest example most people have seen of a "UHC system". I haven't found anyone who wants to be part of that system. Then, you should hear the litany of items that will need to be taxed in order to pay for it! The one good thing that may come out of it is that I may kick my Doctor Pepper addiction. I have made a vow to swear off soft drinks if they are going to be taxed to pay for it! No since in me paying once through income taxes and then through "sin" tax. No, I am not in the top 5% income bracket, but anyone who thinks they are the only ones that will be taxed simply doesn't understand the magnitude of costs the government will incur, particularly in light of the "bail out" debt. All you have to do is look at the few states that have tried a state UHC program and have stopped or are seeing massive budget defecits. Hawaii had a system and had to shut it down because the people who were paying for individual insurance plans stopped since they could get it "free" through the gvt. Massachussetts is struggling now. AGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like you point on the GM bailout. Have you read Atlas Shrugged? If not you really should. I read it right before the financial "crisis" began. It was staggering to see the parallels in a book that was written in the 1950's.

Take care and talk to you soon.
