BTW, I am really enjoying Push Not the River. I will probably recommend it for one of my other book clubs. Very informative, and it makes me want to pick up the Robert Massie Catherine the Great biography I've had on my shelf for a year and a half now. I had posted on WWF chat -- asking about our new member. Is she our age, more or less? Or Paige's? Did she read the book? Did she like it if she did?
a new group has been launched, Sal ~ we are lookingforward to your input!Audiobook ♥ HavenAudiobook devotees are welcome here! Let us knowwhich books and authors you are listening to as you make your way through each day. Audiobooks havebeen my drug of choice for over a decade. Selections, narrations, sources, and devices have improved greatlyover that time period.
I like your owl!
FYI ~ the Audible Books to Recommend group would welcome your membership,Sal.
Oh, I posted a review, a couple after Denis's.
Sal, I gave Wither a 6. Did you guys talk about the title? I suppose it refers to the next generations withering away? Who all was at the meeting?
I am enjoying THREE BAGS FULL, Sal. The book reminds me of another cozy series I listen to ~ Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter by Susan Wittig Albert. Stories with animal narrators which takeplace in Europe are fun fantasy detours from time to time. The European narrators add a certain charm to these types of books, too.
It's a little crude and "dick lit"-ish in parts, but good over all.
Hey, the last two books we have agreed on. That must be a record!
hello :Di just saw your shelf.. good taste :Dbut, why did you gave two stars to 1984 :O
Hey Sal --- How about those Cardinals!!!!! I love it!
You must be a happy camper this baseball season, Sal!!!
Hi Sal - I'll be starting the White Bone in a few days when I finish up a couple others I'm reading. I'll let you know. CC
Thanks for accepting my friend request, Sally. Nice to hear from you.I envy you getting to meet Peter Jenkins. I've read most of his books and have loved them all. Once I emailed a fan letter to him and received the warmest personal greeting back from him. He's someone who's lived life to the fullest.BTW, my town is called Jacksonville. And I have a son who just turned 23 who lives and works in Springfield. :o)
Cornfield is a ficticious town two hours almost directly north of E. St. L.
Thanks. I haven't totally figured out how to do your group online...Hope you have a good discussion!
What Are You Reading? I deleted it and pasted it in my note to you. I prefer that members make their own entries so their avatars appearin conjunction with them. Sorry about the confusion, Sally.
