There will never be enough hours in the day for me read everything I want to! Oh, the tragedy!
Reader, spiritual seeker, friend, sister, daughter, mother of two fine lads (ages 25 and 18) who are The Joy of my life, and servant to a cat who's positive he's royalty. Love animals, got my eye out for a poodle and possibly another cat to keep HRH company. Enjoy puttering around my house and patio, not crazy about housework or cooking, but I do it well enough. If I had the space and more time, I'd make quilts. I like sewing by hand. It's very zen, and quilts are practical and useful. I keep telling people that I would make a very good lady of leisure, but alas, I am still working full time as a librarian.
I'm into some new reading territory right now, kind of going through a paranormal-romance-phase.
The books on my shelves represent only a portion of the books I actually own &/or have read. I add a few as I have time. I usually have 2 or 3 books going at the same time, usually a combo of fiction and non-fiction along metaphysical or spiritual themes, but lately the weighty tomes are losing out to escapist romance of the paranormal variety. I like escapist fiction, which includes romance novels, contemporary and historical, some types of science fiction, and the occasional action thriller, suspense/murder mystery, depending on my mood. I also love audio books, and often listen to them while working or driving.
I like certain young adult books. When my children were growing up, I read to them A LOT, made it a family event, and I discovered many wonderful books (not just Harry Potter) that are often over-looked because they are deemed for kids. They are, but they're still good, so I have many favorites in that genre. I am listing those when I think of it and can get around to it.
