I am reading mostly romances at the moment, but I also have read many westerns and science fiction/fantasy books as well. Some of my favorite authors are Jodi Thomas, Mary Balogh, Loretta Chase, Lisa Kleypas, Catherine Anderson, Cheryl Reavis, and Diana Palmer is my guilty pleasure! LOL. My favorite types of romances are regency and western,... more »

I see you like historical romances too. If you're interested, check out my historical romance group. Among other things, I have a "quizzes" post and an "Upcoming Releases" post.

Hi! Are you familiar with Hannah Alexander's writing. Most of her books are Christian suspense novels, but many are lsted with Steeple Hill (or is it Love Inspired) Cafe or Women's fiction because the story formats are a bit different than regular Harlequin/Love Inspired romances. I read one book by her, liked her writing, appreciated her sensitive approach to the theme of mental illness (a family has had many members over the generations who are "cursed" with compulsive n behaviors, neurosis, etcl), ordered other books written by her, and look forward to reading them. I hope they are as good as the first.

On another subject, I noticed that you have read a lot of books by Lori Wick. I read most of the "Californian" series, but have not read her recently. A few months ago, I saw a book at Border's. Unfortunately, I didn't take down the author or title. So, as a consequence, I cannot find it. I could have sworn the author was Wick, but perhaps it was Janet Oke.

It tells the story about a reformed, saved, now Christian ex-prostitute who is trying to help other women in the trade while trying to put off men who had once been her customers. Unexpectedly, she finds someone who truely loves her.

Does that story sound familiar to you? I really would like to find it.

Hi! Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I have boon really busy with limited time on the computer. I really did like "Crescent City Courtship". The author writes well and creates some interesting characters.

At the end of the book, the author included a note saying that CCC was originally meant as a sequil to "Redeeming Gabriel", but the characters in CCC took on a life of their own.

So, I ordered Redeeming Gabriel". I had originally seen the book and turned it down. From the synopsis (sp) on given on either here or paperbackswap.com, I thought it sounded like it would be full of Civil War steriotyped characters. (I would probably offend SOMEBODY if I said what those were!) Now, that I read the author, though, I was willing to give it try. I hope the book proves me wrong!

Nancy Butler is a really good author. I've als oread Keeper of The Swans by her, which I liked even better than Prospero's Daughter. Sadly, I believe she quit writing in 2005 (unless she's writing under a different name)

Yes, I ADORE Richard Armitage! I've caught a few Robin Hood's but to me his BEST role was in North and South-SIGH-LOL

Hi! I agree. I am not ordinarilly a general romance fan. I read a couple of horrible Harliquen books many, many years ago. Then, about that many years ago, I took a fiction writing class in college. A woman representative from Harliquen was a guest speaker in one of the sessions. She spoke about the formulas and characters that HR excepted for their stories. So, anyhow, I pretty much shunned the genre, but many of these Love Inspired romances are really good..well written, great characters, great stories. A nice surprise. LOL!
