    Hello my dear friend
My sister and I attended a concert here in Cleveland of Sufi Pakistani music. It was performed by the Ali family. It is now 2 generations. They performed Qawwali. It was some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I didn't understand the words but my soul rose up within me in joy as I listened. I wanted to share it with you.

No offence meant, but do treat anything Oprah says (ref quote in your profile...) with extreme caution. On the other hand, Enid rules!

I wrote that post about Reluctant Fundamentalist before I went ahead and changed the name. Glad you approve -- I feel like it takes away from the India focus, but I guess that's a worthwhile compromise.

I just stumbled to your shelf via Artemis_98 and the India book group, but what caught my eye were the Enid Blyton references! I grew up with Enid Blyton and Arthur Ransome and was surprised at how few people this side of the Atlantic had heard of them. I see that some of my favourites are also on your shelf.

Thanks for your note and for the invite. And also welcome to the India group. Do you think we should change the name to "India and Southeast Asia"?
I went to that link you suggested but just found a blog with a lot of rambling; I couldn't find anything about books.
I hope you added your Indian books to the India group shelf! And please join the discussions!

Not heard of Enid Blyton! Philistines!! Ok, so maybe she is a little out of favour in some ways, but I still like her, and would hope to encourage the next generation to read her!!
