I was born in Detroit. Visitors may know that Detroit is predominately gray. Gray skies. Gray streets. Sooty gray buildings. As a child, I read science fiction voraciously, my favorite diversion, and I often said, "I can write a better story than that." But I never tried. In fact, I didn't start writing seriously until I was told I was going blind. After losing my job, I took a hard look at my life and at what I'd done with my dreams.
Since then, I've won several poetry contests. One of my plays was produced in the round at a community college, and let me tell you, it's a thrill to hear the words you wrote applauded by an audience. My science fiction saga, the Anneliese Thielman Trilogy, made the ebook best seller list. In the future, I may revisit Anneliese's universe and write a second trilogy. Currently, I'm working on a series of science fiction adventure books for young adults, rekindling the wonder of my youth. And I've learned Braille so that I can continue to read and occasionally say, "I can write a better story than that."
