I'm an avid reader and I've been in the book business for over 13 years. I've worked in a library as a scifi/fantasy/horror buyer, a publisher as a sales rep and at a bookstore in many capacities. I currently oversee my book companies "business and educator services" in Arizona.
I've been on the book selection committee for the OneBookAZ the past two years. This year's adult selection is Going Back to Bisbee. The YA book selection is Weedflower.
I'm the Director of Operations (and Zombies) for the Phoenix Cactus Comicon. It's the premiere pop culture event in the Southwest. The con will be held at the Mesa Convention Center January 25-27. Check us out at www.phoenixcomicon.com
Kinds of books I like: reworked fairy tales, dystopian and utopian societies, apocalyptic, fantasy, science fiction, plagues, zombies (especially if it takes place after a plague in an apocalyptic dystopian society), animals, faeries, historical fiction, vampires, cookbooks and many many others.
I'm sorry but I DO judge books by their covers. I collect books with covers by Thomas Canty and Kinuko Craft.
I'm interested in exchanging book recommendations and talking books with like minded people.
I do have a life outside of books, really. I enjoy hiking, birding, gardening, gaming, renfaires, traveling and a lot of other things.
I run a ferret rescue program out of my house and a TNR program for feral cats in my neighborhood.
I'm also the mother of one extremely talented and beautiful 14 year old daughter.
Go on, Friend Me!
