I read this book in High School and fell in love with it. I think it was the passion. And the title. Pretty much sums up life in general in my book.

Peter Mathieson is one of the great unknown, overlooked, literary writers of our time. I highly recommend this novel based on true events in the Everglades.

Beautiful foreword by Rick Bragg in this book. Some of his best writing and worth picking up. Particularly, if you are southern and ever sat through a hot Sunday service in a wooden church.

One of the most amazing and orginal concepts brought to fiction in a long time. This author is amazing in all of his work. Gobble up anything he puts out and keep your eye on him. His one of the greats.

Sometimes a good, old fast page turner full of legal twists and turns is good medicine before you turn out the lights. A beach read? - Yeah, for me it is but I do so love the beach.

Dave Pletzer is such an incredible man. I've heard him speak a few times and met him in person. It's amazing to see how he survived this. More amazing is the precious voice he channeled to tell his story.

I was delighted to discover this book won the NY Times Illustration award. The story and the artwork are funny, moody, and original. I checked it out from the library years ago and my son laughed aloud everytime we read it. Okay, so did the rest of the family. I HIGHLY recommend this book for children and adults.

Bill Watterson is a genius. On the top of list of wish to meets. I eat up every Calvin and Hobbs I can get my hands on and then keep them by the bed to pick up on rough days where I need a new insight before I fall asleep!

This is the only book that my parents jointly ever read to me. They took turns reading a chapter or two to me every night. Because of this, Mark Twain has always held a special place in my heart. In my novel, The Messenger of Magnolia Street, there's a place where three adult friends are in a cave searching for something and there is also a flashback of them being there as 3 small kids. It wasn't until after the novel was published that I thought - oh, Tom, Huck and Becky!

I loved this book and enjoyed the whole time travel/physics aspects. I kept thinking it would be such a GREAT MOVIE and I couldn't wait until it came out. I actually paid to go see it in the theatre and it was one of the WORST movies I've ever seen.
Don't judge the book by the movie. Read the book.
