I come from the "book pusher" school of librarianship--I firmly believe that there's a book for every reader and a reader for every book.

As a librarian in an elementary school that is using the "America's Choice" reading program, I've pledged to read 25 books this year along with the students. As of 2/27/08 (day I joined Shelfari), I have 12 more to go! (Update: I now have 9 more to go, after reading like a fiend during Spring Break...) FURTHER UPDATE: I finished the school year having read 20 of 25 books--oh well, it was a worthy goal.

I love listening to audiobooks as well--just finished The Monster of Florence by Douglas Preston. Creepy, but enjoyable! « less
