I was surprised that he became nationwide, too! We went to the same high school, but he's a year younger. I lived in Lawrence in the late eighties (one year at KU) Later, I would often visit for parties and concerts and such. I have fond memories of trying to ride a bike that was hanging in a tree!
I think you'd also like a book called Winter's Bone! I'm bad about writing reviews of books, however, I am partial to The Kings of Kings County because I am from Kansas City. Have a great day!
