Hi, I am Verna, John's wife and manager of his internet accounts. John had brain surgery which removed part of a brain tumor. So he is becoming more of an intercessor these days. Still we want to continue to get his books out. An interesting factor is that we drove from Costa Mesa to downtown LA to attend the church of the Open Door 50 years ago. Dr. McGee was a great teacher. We still listen to him on the radio.
I wish you best with your book, and "yes" we will check it out.
    Thanks and god bless,
    Verna

Thanks for this, Richard. I saw your academic background and your desire to "critically examine" Darwin's work and thought it might be interesting to get your opinion. I taught for quite a few years but am now working in administration at the university. If you ever want to talk more just let me know. I'll send a friendship request over to you. Keep in touch...ID is an interesting topic! You can learn more about where I work by going to www.okwu.edu.

Hello! Thanks again for your interest. Yes, Jesus was a man's man. Unfortuately, the gospel accounts portray him more as a mystic figure and most Hollywood movies followed suit. He was a carpenter and probably did other very physical work. He was not a whimp like you see in the movies. He had a commanding presence, one the authoriyies feared to death, his death. I think you will enjoy the read.

I took a look at your book and read what you have on your webpage. It sound fascinating. I would certainly like to read it for reference. The cover is really good.

That photo was taken a few years ago by a friend when we were playing with a new camera. I remember thinking if I ever write a book I would use it as a cover photo.

My book is too new to be thinking about a speaking tour and besides I have no experience speaking in front of groups. Take care, AM

Hi Rich. When I put The Sandal Maker in the search box it comes up for me. You can also click on the cover on my shelf. I would be honored if you had the chance to read it. I hope you like it. Thanks A.

By the way, my next book will be non-fiction. I call it Dumber Than Rocks: God vs the Big Bang. I will be taking to task the atheist, creationist, Iders, and the Darwinians. I got the title from Richard Dawkins. In 1991 in a presentation before some kids in the UK, he explained the difference between designed things and what he label designoids. Within 10 minutes he had me convinced that humans are dumber than rocks. This should be fun

Hi, Richard. I’m the author of The Sandal Maker, a new novel about the public ministry of Jesus from a unique point of view. A story that will take you on a fascinating journey in first century Galilee. I’m including here the publisher's notes from Amazon.com. You can read samples at shelfari.com by entering the title. Let me know what you think.

    Book Description
Caleb, an elderly Jew, leaves the safety of his home in Cana on a mission to find a man he believes is in Jerusalem. Miriam, Caleb’s only remaining child, accompanies him disguised as a boy. In the desolation of the war struck Galilean countryside, father and daughter risk their lives to journey south on the Jordan River trail. As they walk, Caleb intrigues Miriam with a captivating story of his youth that will change her future destiny. A story of a time forty years prior when he became a sandal maker in order to observe a man some called the Miracle Worker. Caleb secretly kept notes of the events he saw and heard as he followed the crowds. With his objective, skeptical point of view, he reveals the fascinating ministry of the one he called the “Master.” Heart pounding perils and the threat of death endanger the two travelers, but nothing could foretell the fate awaiting them in Jerusalem!

    From the Publisher
    A. Michaelson's new novel, The Sandal Maker, takes the reader on a fascinating journey back to the year 70 A.D. in worn torn Palestine. The author creatively weaves two stories together, one in the present, the other in the past. Heartwarming, enlightening and tragic, The Sandal Maker paints a portrait of one man's life and his involvement in how the gospel came to be.
