The Catholic Book Club will be reading and discussing Dorothy Day’s “The Long Loneliness” in February. As you have this book on your shelf, we would like to invite you to join us in the discussion. You can find us at: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/98291/about
We hope to hear from you.
Welcome to the “Who Doesn’t Love a Classic?” Group!
We’re a very active group so I hope you enjoy it here. Feel free to take your time and browse around. We have group reads that take place every two months, a discussion thread where people post great reviews (post yours too!) and lots of other interesting conversations taking place all the time.
…And don’t forget to introduce yourself in the Introductions thread!
Yes! We did send some emails before. I was wondering if you would remember! :) Yes, things are going really well with school. I was there for summer classes (so I haven't been on campus lately) and all I have left to do is my practicum this fall then graduation in December!! Hooray! It's been a long and crazy year...
Yes no late fees is also great! So are you working on your second masters now? What are your future plans?
Like you ( I assume) I am a biblioholic; love the feel, scent & look of books.
Doing Life was a life-altering book for me; I keep it on my coffee table along with others that I need to have near me (Chaucer, Oxford Book of English Verse, Oxford Dictionary of Quotations and a few others) and have lent it out to a number of people, almost all of whom have never been quite the same since.
I can't bear it that those people are STILL IN THERE. There is not one whom one would not be glad to have as a neighbour & friend & introduce to one's friends ! I am not naive enough to think that all 'lifers' are like these people, but my thoughts and prayers frequently go out to them...Anna in New Zealand
Yes! It is indeed I - your friend across the pond, who has recently been going through a very spiritual book diet, hence the mainly spiritual books on my shelf at the mo. And yes I am reading both Maya Angelou and Richard Foster at the mo. So glad you ontroduced me to this site!
