I'm a dreamer and a booklover.
I would like to spend the rest of my years in a cabin by the sea and the forest, with two or three cats, reading books.

I've just finished my bachelor degree in literature and is working parttime in a record store (now on my sixth year), in a cold and uncharming city called Oslo. If all goes... more »

It felt like a neverending road trip with people who thought they were too cool for school. It had its moments, but still.. I loathed all the character. I might have liked it more when I was younger, but that just says something about my younger self.

This was a long ride! I loved it, I hated it, I liked it. Sometimes it felt like a neverending story without any real hights, and that I was just waiting for the climax. On the other hand I found myself enjoying many individual parts of the story, especially the story of Levin. The characters Anna and Vronsky was as annoying as Catherine and Heathcliff or Emma and Charles Bovary, but despite all their faults I found myself pitying and feeling sorry for them (against my will).

A lovely little tale, but I felt there was something lacking (although I can't quite put my finger on it). Since Never Let Me Go is one of my favorites, I can't help but feel abit disappointed. 3.5 stars. And I have to add: I could not stop imagining Mr Stevens as Carson from Downton Abbey...

Not a good introduction to the language! It works as a collection of the most important rules, but it lacks a good overview, and the examples are difficult to grasp for a non-Irish speaker (since they are not translated). I would recommend Basic Irish by Nancy Stenson instead!

  • World Without End

The recycled plot and characters from Pillars of the Earth. The characters are very two-dimensional, and it seems like the story jumps from one happening to the next. Never boring, but still very predictable. I may have liked this one abit more than Pillars, but that may have something to do with the format (I listend to the audiobook of Pillars, which took ages), and the fact that while Pillars faded in comparison with a somewhat good tv-adoptation, the terrible tv-series of World Without End makes the book seem better.

Brilliant! I had to 'work' with it to really appreciate it, but it was definitely worth it! I love how all the small details makes the stories intertwine. One of the few works I really enjoyed writing an essay about...

Wonderful, and so much more than what I expected! It's been a long time since a short book has gotten me so involved with the plot and characters...
