Had it not been for an early love of reading however, I am positive I would not have made it this far. I have always had...more »

    Hi Rhee,
Long time!It appears that if anyone hasn't been visiting this site much its yours truly! Things have been hectic, what with the family coming down and some conference attendances. We have since settled in Westdene Auckland Park-near UJ (U might know it) and have settled down quite nicely. Now struggling with time mananagement and related issues. So, how go your studies? Finished any chapters lately?.....wish I could say the same!! Well, take care and do send a shout out from time to time! Later

You look very sexy in that picture. Is that proper language for this forum, I hope so because you really look very sexy baby, just had to let you know. For all those who are interested in her, this is what I have to say, She is the brightest, cutiest, most remarkable, most polite and respectable young woman you will ever meet. She is however already taken.

Books open up the mind to a whole other life out there. They draw you in, mesmerise you and leave you wanting more. Just like a young woman I know.

    Enjoy your reading.

    Have a great day.

Hope I find you well. Haven't been spending much time online due to pressure of work and family. My wife and daughter have since joined me in SA, a move that has necessitated some house and school hunting.Consequently I haven't been following the three democrats' race as closely. Its sad though that while chances of Obama being elected should he contest against McCain are quite slim given the ingrained racism of American white society and self-hatred of the black community, he continues to give of his best. Whether this is because he is really hopeful or is doing it for the campaign funds, I really don't know.

All the best with your reading. Will be doing a lot of that myself soon as I will be presenting a paper at a Critical Methods Conference in Grahamstown come July.

Love the new profile photo by the way....much clearer than the old one.Stay healthy and in touch. Later!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of condom use that is one foible our black brothers have....promiscuous as they are, they insist on 'skin-to-skin'. Though another school of thought stereotypically argues that condoms are just are jsut too small for the brothers and often break....another conspiracy perhaps? As for women carrying condoms, the sisters here would rather be caught dead as only ladies of the night do such things and they wouldn't want to be labelled such. I guess the US being a land 'of the brave'one-night stands a girl has to protect herself.

What's your take on the Obama elitist debacle? Really silly methinks. What you reading? Have watched Shaka Zulu the movie and now reading the book by E.A Ritter...its great! All the best for the week! Later!!

University of Limpopo?? No, thats in South Africa. I had gone to Zimbabwe...the two (i.e SA and Zim) are separated by the Limpopo River from whence the university you visited derived its name. Pity about the infected and affected students, since a sad reality of the African continent. It would be interesting to research just how much in terms of human resources the Southern African region alone has lost to HIV and AIDS.The tragedy is of course that in spite of so many dying young still will not stay faithful to one sexual partner nor abstain. How is sexual behaviour amongst students in the US? The film industry gives the impression they are a reincarnation of Sodom and Gomorrah and yet the AIDS stats seem to say otherwise...whats the secret? Later!

Geez returned it after reading it...I guess only in the US. Here they would have had you out on your ear.
As for Zim Lit, my thesis is actually on the cosmopolitan and internationally acclaimed Yvonne Vera...can goggle her first if you like. I could recommend any of her six novels but my favourites are Buttterfly Burning, Without A Name and The Stone Virgins.Try them and tell me what you think. Other writers of course are: Tsitsi Dangarembga, Dambudzo Marechera, Chenjerai Hove and Shimmer Chinodya. All are enigmatic.Enjoy your weekend!

I remember going through a similar phase during my teens. Talk about Mills and Boons, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Famous Five and my fav, the Three Investigators by Alfred Hitchcock. That was of course before I discovered Zimbabwean literature.Have you read any?

Love the cover of your lastest addition. Looks steaming hot...have you noticed how sometimes just the cover of a book can really raise your expectations and then some?!
