I'm a 40 year old wife and mother. I love to read-predominately Historical Romance set in the Regency period-but I also enjoy other time periods, some contemporary and paranormal Romance, Science Fiction and Fantasy as well.

Since joining I've added thousands of books to my shelves as I'm an avid collector and have tons of books I've bought at thrift shops over the last decade. I don't think I'll ever be able to read all the books I own in my lifetime but I'm going to try:) You'll notice a lot of "black cover" books on my shelves-these are predominately vintage Regency Romances.


Many of my book reviews are ones I posted on Amazon. My Amazon reviewer name is Laura Eakes. I've been actively posting reviews there for several years. I would like my reviews to help other readers find "hidden gems", especially older Romances that have no info listed, as well as to avoid wasting their hard earned money on books they may not enjoy. To writers-please take no offense to my reviews, it's not that I don't like you-just your book-LOL. I do, generally, try several books by an author and I have been known to like other books by the same author. And like everything in life, we all have different likes and dislikes-and there are MANY books I just couldn't get into but are bestsellers:) To each his own:)
