I'm a married mom of four adorable kids who love books as much as I do. I'm totally hooked on anything supernatural. People don't know quite what to say when I tell them I adore vampire books. I'm really trying to branch out and read different stuff. I love, love, LOVE stories of personal triumphs. I try to read my scriptures every day, it...more »

Hey---just logged in and saw your notes. Thanks for the suggestion----I'll look for that book. And for the record, I'm not completely turned off by romance novels. I mean, I don't go LOOKING for them, but a good one on a recommendation will be just fine. Especially if they get steamy. ;) Besides, they give me some insight on what chicks might be fantasizing about (besides good looks and money, both of which I am a little short on these days...)

Hey! I e-mailed you a while back, and you didn't answer, turkey! How have you been? I LOVED Breaking Dawn! LOVED it. I don't get the people who were disappointed. I guess I'm just a sucker for a HEA! Hope you and yours are well. *HUGS* Thanks again, for my b'day present! I saved it for a rainy day and it was just the thing for Breaking Dawn!

Guess what I got for my birthday?! Yay! My husband knows me so well! Maggie started reading Twilight because she wants to go to the Breaking Dawn party at Barnes and Noble. Isn't that cute?:)

I got the third Gerry Bartlett book on ARC today! I still have to read the second one tho. Wheee! Thanks for your e-mail today. You always make me smile!

Chloe finished Pretties so I'll bring it over along with Dead Witch Walking - it was very good! I think I talked my SIL into reading it too. I just checked out Extras from the library - book 4 in the uglies series.

Oooo, I shoulda bought Outlaw Demon Wails the other day when I placed a big order. I'm a book behind in the series though (how did I let that happen?!) so I guess I'll have to be patient. Whatcha reading now? I want to read Ireland by Frank Delaney, but I've got so many other books I'm supposed to read first. *sigh*

PS- I highly recommend Great and Terrible Beauty, it is a great blend oif lite-fantasy and darkness, with yummy romance, too. Right up there with Twilight! In Young Adult- but oh so good. If you haven't read it yet, you should add it to your list!

Thanks for thte warning! That is EXACTLY how I felt when I read Angela Ashes.... ouch! I actually didn't finished it, I was so depressed.... of course, it didn't help that I was suffering from postpartum at the time, but either way, I am so over that book!

Hey Kersten! I like the Twilight series. I was apprehensive about reading it, thinking it was just a teen girl mushy thing, but was pleasantly surprised by its quality. I can definitely see why it has so much appeal, and why my daughter cajoled me into reading the series. I would probably have never picked up a vampire story on my own volition! For my tastes, I think I'd like it to be a little darker, but that's just me. ;) I notice that you have quite a selection on your shelf---maybe I'll look into one of those. Any suggestions for a first-timer?

I was really pretty disappointed in Full Moon Rising. It's too bad, because I have the rest of the series and I don't know if I'm that interested. :(
