    Hi Cammy,

Eric Bana seemed a very unconvincing Henry VIII in 'The Other Boleyn Girl'. Why have an actor with black hair? The monarch was known for having red hair.

People should not have to 'prove' their religion. It's not anyone's business, after all. I was only joking when mentioning The Wizard of Oz, but in this day and age, some will protest against the most trivial of things.

That sounds a very physical job you have to do, Cammy. It can't have been easy, especially in the boiling hot weather.

As for me, I work in the clerical part of a large company that supplies heating gas to all homes. I send out post to all the engineers that their managers want them to see.

    Have a good day,

    Hi Cammy,

I'd advise you not to rent out 'The Other Boleyn Girl'. Everyone who has read the book has been disappointed with the move. A 600 page novel in small print can hardly be transferred to a brief movie. Events are glossed over too much.

I know many don't like the Potter books because a lot of Christians are against the magic elements. In truth, it's the Pulman 'Golden Compass' novels and film that have an anti-God message. Pulman is a commited aethesist and uses them to convey his beliefs. The film had a cold reception from some when it was released.

I agree, Cammy. Though I haven't read them, it's clear the Potter ones aren't evil. Next it'll be the Wizard of Oz!

Wish we were given time off at my office when the weather is good!

Hi Cammy, it looks like you need a lot to read. A few summer novels perhaps?

If your father is bringing you chocolates shakes, which is a nice treat, it'll be appropriate if you have 'Chocolat' to read as well!

I love long 'doorstopper' books, which tend to be 19th century classics. 'The Other Boleyn Girl' was over 600 pages, and that was in small print. Though I haven't read all of 'The Host' yet (about 200 pages to go), I have also ordered the audio book version. A super 22 hour version read by Kate Reading.

It's interesting what you say about the opinions of the 'Twilight' series, and that it is said the original is best. 'The Host' is regarded as Meyer's elevation from YA author to adult writer. It is highly regarded by all.

I've never had the inclination to read Potter books, but I know I would have done when I was a teen.

    Good Wishes,

    Hi Cammy,

Thanks for the geography about Montana & North Dakota. Us in Britain don't hear a lot about those states.

I can understand you being nervous about the extraction, but dental procedure has advanced a lot more than the old days. Recuperation might take a little while, but get some good books and it will soon pass.

Since 'The Host' is over 600 pages long, it's quite a meaty tome. The start had be really hooked, and I'll be sad when it ends as even at that length it looks too short. I hope Stephenie Meyer does another set in the 'Host' world.

'Twilight' sounds all right, though I'm not too sure. As so many 'Host' lovers seem to, I'll give it a chance later.

I like a long book with lots of details. A small book with little in it seems to be over before I start.

    Enjoy the day,

    Best Wishes,

    Graham

    Hi Cammy,

Montana isn't the sort of state that gets mentioned a lot here in Britain. From what I know, it is very rural and a good place for the outdoor enthusiast.

There's plenty of time to get 'Chocolat'. It might be wise to stock up on reading matter if you are going to recuperate from your wisdom tooth extraction. When will that be?

No, 'The Host' isn't about vampires, but alien life forms called 'Souls' who look like centipedes. They visit different planets and implant themselves into the occupiers and live like them. The Seekers are dangerous Souls who are trying to hunt down the remaining humans.

'The Host' is classed as an adult book, while 'Twilight is seen as a Young Adult (YA). I will try and get the Twilight book later, though. Films often disappoint fans, like 'Chocolat' did, although The Lord Of The Rings more than lived up to it's quality.

    Hi Cammy,

Good to hear from you again. I hope you enjoyed Montana itself. The long American open roads can be a stretch to drive in.

Have a good weekend, my friend.

    Best Wishes,

'Chocolat' the book is so good. The film changed it as not to offend the religions. It was ridiculous.

The first 100 pages of 'The Host' is electrifying, but settles down when Wanderer/Melanie run away to join a human community in the mountains. The essence of the book is her difficulty in being accepted there.

As for the 'Twilight' series, I haven't read that, but would like to. Stephanies fourth in that series 'Breaking Dawn' is coming out in two weeks, and the Twilight movie is due.

Good for you in getting moose pictures. Hope they turn out well.

Many in my office have seen, or are going to see the 'Mamma Mia' movie. It's not a patch on the stage play, but good fun nonetheless.

    Hi Cammy,

It wasn't 'Blood & Chocolate' that I was talking about, but the novel 'Chocolat' by Joanne Harris. The film starred Juliet Binoche & Johnny Depp. Despite these excellent actors, I disliked it as the story was changed so much. Only the book is any good.

As for 'The Host', I'm just halfway through it. It's certainly unlike any I've read before and so far I'd recommend it.

It rains A LOT in Britain. It seems rare we have a heatwave. I hope you do take some pictures in Montana. I'd like to see a couple if you e mail them.

Yesterday I saw 'Mamma Mia!'. The film won't win any awards, but it was great fun, and the songs were excellent!

    Enjoy yourself.

    Hi Cammy,

Wish I could answer your question. I just use the machine naturally. It sounds like it might be your computer. I can only suggest that you experiment with messages to your friends.

I'll be back on the 4th of September, which is just before your birthday.

The bomb did go off in Brighton, by the way. It killed a lot of people, and put the wife of a minister in a wheelchair for life. The Prime Minister and others only just eacaped death.

Your temperatures seem a little more tolerable than the cloudy days we seem to get endlessly

Montana sounds beautiful. A gem that few foreign visitors have gone to.

    Hi Cammy,

it won't be until the first week in September when I go to Brighton. It is a fine place what was known in 1984 as the IRA tried to blow up the government while they were staying there for their annual party conference.

I wouldn't like it to be anywhere near 100 degrees. The high 70's is about as far as I want to go!

    Enjoy Montana.

    Hi Cammy,

Wish I could say I have such an eventful time as you do.

I have booked for four nights in Brighton (town on England south coast) starting 31st August. That should be a neat little break for my father and myself.

Enjoy your trip to Montana. Hope it all goes well for you there. Sorry that you've got pain from your wisdom tooth. Let's just hope the extraction doesn't prove to be too painful.

Right here, we must be having the wettest July ever. It's real monsoon style!

Keep me up to date with how things are, Cammy.

    With Best Wishes,

    Hi Cammy,

Thanks for that message. It looks like you're very busy right now.

The last week has been quite eventful, so I'm pretty tired. My father and I
went to Oxford for three days, which was picturesque. We then went to the Royal Ascot racecourse. This was a real thrill, as everybody had to dress up in best outfits. Some men were coming in top hat and tails, the women had beautiful dresses and hats. The rich and super-rich were here, as we watched the Queen and the Royal Family ride by in open carraiges. I took many lovely pictures which I uploaded on to Facebook.

Look forward to hearing again soon.

    Hi Cammy,

Thanks for all that information about 'Wicked' (which I knew anyway). I was aware it was about the early life of the Oz witches. Yes, it is in London as well.

As I said earlier, I'm not interested in the horse racing. I'm going for the occasion. It's possible we could see some members of the Royal Family, however, they would be in the Royal Enclosure. Many men will wear a top hat etc, but I will be all right in a smart jacket & tie. Anything less and people will be thrown out. Naturally, I'll be taking my camera.

    Hi Cammy,

It won't be until November when I see 'Wicked' (& Hairspray). Thanks for telling me about the good parts of the musical. I'll look out for them. Like your new pic, incidentally.

As I know you like horses, you might be interested in knowing that on Thurs 19th June, I'll be going to Royal Ascot horse races, where the Royal family go. I'm not a fan of horse races, but the atmosphere is supposed to be a great experience. We all have to dress up.

    Hi Cammy,

I don't want to know too much about 'Wicked' as it might spoil things. Just let me know if you enjoyed it and how spectacular it was.

I like your new Profile! Incidentally, The latest book I am reading is the stunning 'The Host' by Stephenie Meyer. I've only just read the first 40 pages and it is excellent!

    Hey there,

Well it sounds like a congrats is in order on the graduation. That's a great accomplishment.

Hope you are enjoying your time working at the stables, and that you have a great summer.

College will sweep you up into all sorts of interests if you let it. Stay focused on your goal, be it singing, vet-tech or any other career.

The great thing about the arts is that you can lead a double life pretty successfully if you can maintain a balance. If you have talent and you plan well, one career choice never has to exclude another. If you have to learn it all (like me, heh) with no batteries included at the start, you can still do just fine if you keep your wits about you.

The thing about the writing, if a story comes by, you'll write it. But it sounds like you're not the type to get stuck behind a desk waiting for it, which is good. Life is in the living. You'd be surprised the sort of people who will run into YOU instead of the other way around if you make it a goal to know where you're headed, and plan how to get there. It will all fall together.

Best of luck with all of it. You'll go far. We all have complete confidence in that ;)
