I have read 2 of the 3 Kovacs novels (haven't yet read Broken Angels). Thanks for the referral to Iain M. Banks. That was my next question :-)

Market Forces was both enjoyable and preposterous. He almost makes it a political alegory, but he shies away from moralizing, which I think is just fine. I really like Morgan's books, but sometimes I find myself willfully suspending my inner plot-hole critic.

I haven't read The Steel Remains yet. Is it any good? Even if you say it's bad, I'll probably want to read it anyway. I learned that he has a couple of graphic novels as well, but I haven't seen them at Barnes & Noble.

I'll definitely read Excession at some point. Right now I'm still slogging my way through Quicksilver (on my Kindle!), after which I have some nonfiction to read.
