If you read the fionavar tapestry I guess youll know by the now what I was talking about in my notes. It was too similar with Tolkiens work and other more original authors. I still believe he is a good writer I love his TIGANA. Ill send it to you when you finished with the other books ive sent you. Speaking of similarities here are some Dalrei - Riders of Rohanlios alfar - the elves (the sailing to another land part also belongs to Tolkien)Rakoth - SauronThe five - similar to the kids of Narnia (they go back and forth to another world)Alternate realities - The shadowlands of Narnia/ the different worlds of the chronicles of amber by roger zelazny - ill tell you more about him sometimeArthurian legend - King Arthur/GuinevereNorse myth - Odin once hang himself for knowledge like Paul did and the ravens also - memory and thought were thereDiaurmund and his band - similar misfits in other booksThe ruling prince - much like Aragornwell you get the picture I havent read the last book but i feel like i already know the ending bought the first two in book sale so you have to look for the last one yourself :)This work is an homage to Tolkien and the others its well written and there are some good ideas there but I dont think ill be placing them in my shelves :)
Hi Ren! yes ive rated the other books higher that her debut. I guess it was a bit mushy for me. it read like a teenaged love novel rather than a book about vampires hahahaha hmmm midnight sun? cullen you say? well im not going to buy the book but if you would have a copy please let me borrow it :)
Ren!Lets end this challenge, I'm getting a migraine. hahaha tomorrow is the deadline. Good luck!!liesmith
