Even when reading is impossible, the presence of books acquired produces such an ecstasy that the buying of more books than one can read is nothing less than the soul reaching towards infinity... we cherish books even if unread, their mere presence exudes comfort, their ready access, reassurance.

Yes, I remembered that I didn't have Cheaper by the Dozen on my shelf when I saw it on yours!

Concur on Pirate Latitudes...it was okay but not special. I just finished looking at your shelf - we have over 200 books in common! And I can't believe you've read the Cherry Ames nurse books. I loved them when I was a kid.

I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking...I meant to say Michael Crichton (although I did notice Clive Cussler on your shelf as well). Timeline is by Crichton.

Thanks...I see you have a LOT of books on your TBR shelf. What fun you have ahead of you. Read The Gargoyle. It's one of my most favorite books ever. I also saw that you'd read a lot of Clive Cussler...did you read Timeline? It's my favorite of all his books and I never get tired of reading it.

Thanks for the invitation! I really like the A.E. Newton quote. I already own more books than I can possibly read during the time I have left, but that doesn't stop me from buying even more.

    Happy reading,

I thought The Lincoln Lawyer is one of the best books that I have read all year. I just finished The Closers and I thought that it was awful. I couldn't believe the book was written by the same author.

we read it in our reading circle, and none of us liked it--you rated it about right! I am reading Bonhoeffer. Very interesting so far, haven't had much time this week to read. It was in our Village library.

Thanks so much!!! Derek and I need to write more...in fact, it's one of my big goals for this year. We have a lot going on in our lives right now (we'll explain soon..for now, it's top secret). Once all the dust settles, I have loads of ideas that need to get on paper, and others that are already on the virtual page that need a final edit. It's a challenge to act as your own editor! What's the old saying about a lawyer defending himself has a fool for a client? Perhaps, the same applies to a writer who edits her own manuscripts!

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, A. E. Happy reading!

    Hugs,
    Sharon
