Hello, my name is Cindy
Reading is like traveling to places you've never dreamed of without leaving your comfy chair.
I read a broad range of genres, anything from TC to Romance and everything in between. I really don't have a favorite author because that can change from book to book. If I'm reading a book that captures all my 5 senses,... more »

Hi Cindy, I have been reading the Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, I must admit it has taken me some time it is very interesting but taken me a while, I keep re-reading as I want to get to really understand some aspects of certain chapters, its more like a science book as its about genes...I need a good story book I think, you read any good ones recently / Alex.

    Hi there

Not sure if it is the same thing, but must be. Today is a holiday, because here it is Dia de Finados (Dia de los muertos).
Hope you had a great weekend
    Cheers

    Hey there Eclectic
Isn't that frustrating that it seems we have less and less time to read? That reminds me of my teenage years, when I had time to have fun with friends and have fun reading.
Tomorrow is a holiday around here. I've done most of my chores and work for the weekend so hopefully I'll be able to read more of the very nice book Eileen kindly sent me.
I hope all is well with you and that you had a nice Halloween.
We don't celebrate Halloween as such, but Dia das Bruxas (Dia de las Brujas) and also Dia do Saci, a folklore character boy, who protects the forests.
Take care and speak to you soon

Cindy, thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement and explaining not just what TTYS means but how to go about changing the settings. I think I will do that because I must have spent half the afternoon and most of the evening trying to find and answer everyone's post. It was overwhelming to say the least. You are so sweet Cindy,
and for sure I will let you know after I get the settings fixed up...so you enjoy what is left of Sunday and happy reading to you too Cindy.......:) Rita

Hi Cindy...actually I am kind of sad that we lost James and Charlie...I couldn't really understand Charlie and some of his trash talk but he was a character to say the least...and James
is so nice...but now I am curious to see what you will post for your picture next...and thank you for asking about my vacation. I stayed longer then I planned because I got sick
down there. I don't know if you have ever heard of Crohns disease...that is a chronic bowel disease. Whatever it was that I ate...boy, nasty! But I did get more time with my
daughter so it was all good. How about you Cindy, do you and your hubby travel very much, if at all? I am NOT a traveller but of course with Vikki being in North Hollywood, then
I go. Her and hubby will be up for Christmas so that is good. Don't know what is wrong with me but any little thing and I burst into tears...of course as the plane took off and I
couldn't see L.A. anymore, I was very quietly sobbing....but that's me...always been like that...aside from visiting her...I wouldn't go anywhere. My hubby over the years always
talked about wanting to go to the far East and go to Cuba and everywhere and I know people travel all the time but now he likes staying home too. Sorry, I have been running at
the mouth, you didn't expect all this but you are so kind (everyone is so sweet in this group) that I felt the need to vent...did I say that?...kidding...its all good...take care...Rita

Cindy...I'm back....!!!! Just a question I remembered to ask you as I clicked post....I get emails from our Shelfari group and go onto the discussion title and right now because I have
been away...over 160 emails...quite a few from Shelfari....I hate not replying to all of them but it becomes impossible sometimes to keep up when you get behind and I was going
to ask Koreen and Eileen and now you...do you reply to every post you read? How does that work for you...what is your way of posting back and forth...if you don't mind sharing..
    ...:)

Cindy....what does TTYS mean?...will I never learn?.....:( Also forgot to tell you that I had a very relaxing visit with my daughter. Just the two of us....that's a song isn't it...she
sang to me while I was there and all I could do was cry...even when I left, got in the plane and as we lifted up and L.A. disappeared, I was bawling...don't know what is getting
into me...could cry at the drop of a hat.....:(...again thanks for remembering about my little vacation....:)

Hi Cindy;....thanks for remembering my holiday....!!!! You and everyone in this group....ROCK! I love what you put in place of that sweet picture, that's cool too. Now the book
Son of a Grifter...I read it..but it took quite awhile trying to plow through, maybe it was the author but I found it rather draining or maybe its just me, but finished it. Let me kno what your thoughts are on that particular story...yes, now I am wondering just where they both are, Charlie and James...I thought James was quite settled in with this group.
Charlie, I haven't known as long...will just have to wait and see...all ready for Halloween????? sure is looking spooky out there with the wind and rain....let me know how the book
is coming and take care ....:) Rita

Hi Cindy...I love that picture that you have...I don't know if you caught my latest trying to keep-up with everyone post..I miss that pretty sweet face you had on before but this
one is nice to look at too. Most of these books I have read except for one or two of them. Revelations, that doesn't sound familiar to me...but it looks good. Are you currently
reading one of these or are you starting something new....I don't think anyone read my post when I was asking about Charlie...have you heard from him Cindy...maybe he left too?
What is it with us....LOL.....take care, Rita

I don't usually re-read a book either but I have been known to get a book in a series only to find I have already read it. Bummer! Then I have to let someone else enjoy it. I think I could read September by Rosamunde Pilcher again because it has been over ten years since I read it the first time and I just loved the word pictures it evoked. I don't do well with true crime and although I used to really enjoy Patricia Cornwell I think I burned out on her. I enjoy Mary Jane Clark and and I need to add her books to my list. I am starting Break Neck by Erica Spindler. Later.....
