Hi Rachel--I noticed you're a King and horror fan, and thought I'd recommend checking out my debut novel Bloodstone, out in paperback now from Leisure Books. Bloodstone was a Stoker Finalist in hardcover and a Five Star bestseller. Take a look, and if you give it a read, let me know what you think:

    Good luck with your poetry!

    All the best,
    Nate

In response to your question about Survivor:
Survivor is great. If you loved Fight Club and Choke you are already used to his style so the little factual asides that I love in those two books are also here in Survivor and the great, somewhat outlandish plot and characters are there. I was not that into Choke, but I loved Fight Club and Survivor and I enjoyed but did not love Invisible Monsters. That is all I have read of Chuck so far.

If by nihilistic writing, you mean what I think, than you would without doubt love the book 'Satan Burger.' The author, Mallick III reminds me of Dostoevsky if he was raised in a society strongly influenced by post-modern/post-apocalyptic thought and did that one extra hit of acid that his friends said would be too much. Check it out.
