Hmmm, sorry to disagree, but i found it distasteful, an interesting plot etc. but no real closure, i think i paid 15 dollars for it, and that's why i cry, not worth it really.

An aging man very upper class, has many affairs, sexaholic? numerous times a day, 7 days a week, not very realistic, plus the heroine(s) blah, they just look bad, tsk, tsk.

  • Seduction of a Proper Gentleman
    • Rated 3 stars

Victoria Alexander, an excellent writer, my obsession is to line my shelves with her books.

    MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***

Seduction of a Proper Gentleman, was exactly disappointing. Sure it was cute, silly and romantic. But not the 'right' plot / storyline for the ending to a fantastic series. It just came up short. It seemed completely opposite from my view of the Earl of Norcroft.

a centuries-old curse, between two rival families, seems a bit over dramatic and just didn’t fit well, even though it was the main theme of this story. Seduction of a Proper Gentleman the title sounds intriguing and promising, however I didn’t really see any seducing between the Earl of Norcroft and Kathleen.

The thrill of being the last man standing—the end to this series, as a reader I was expecting fireworks, passion, romance and well a bit more than I paid for. I can’t believe I’m saying this, I mean I have read not so great novels before, but I’ve never regret it, not until now. I wished I could have just erase the whole book, and kept to my imagination of what could have been.

I really hate to say this, because Ms. Alexander truly is a great writer, but failed to inspire me this time. However I will not give up on her.

'One Night With His Virgin Mistress'

    MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***

Natalie, or Tallie to her family and friends, is kinda in limbo. She's not quite sure what she wants to do, go back to school, or start off her writing career? While in between she fantasizes about Gareth Hampton, a virtual golden Apollo in her eyes. Handsome, sexy, and well off in the pockets.

However when they had an accidental bump into each other, Gareth apologizes and asks Tallie to lunch. A few lunches, a few smiles, and she sees their time as something more, or at least there must be something blossoming between them. That is until her cousin, Josie steps into the picture.

Gareth rudely rejects Tallie for Josie, because obviously Tallie is just too 'innocent' for his taste. (the scum!)

Heartbroken she decides to leave her flat and flat mates, because seeing Gareth everyday at the flat to visit Josie was just too much to bare.

Luck has it that a chance meeting with Kit Benedict brings Tallie to Flat sit his place while he is away on business in Australia.

What’s a broken hearted girl to do? So Tallie agrees and moves into the flat away from the humiliation of seeing her crush peruse her horrid cousin. The large comfy space, two bedrooms, large bath and an office, ideal for her to work on her book, all for her use and no strings attached, just flat sit.

As she relaxes in a hot shower, it was then that a strange man appears in the bathroom, demanding her to explain why she's in his Flat. He orders her out. Tallie jumps out of the shower as the stranger tells her to make coffee, because she has a lot to explain!

Through so much confusion and a little trickery on Kit's part,Kit's half brother, Mark gives Tallie a week to find another place to live. So after a couple of days searching for a low budget living space Tallie came up with nothing. She could always go back home to her parents home, however she would never get the space she needs for herself or her work.

Mark plans a dinner party one night, and at the last minute the caterers can’t make it. Tallie steps up to save night with a delicious meal for Mark’s guests. Mark tells Tallie she could stay a little longer, since she was a great help. Meanwhile, Tallie and Mark really try to live separate lives while sharing his flat, less seeing each other would help with the difficult situation right?

And one of Mark’s guests from the dinner party seems a bit interested in Tallie, but after a disastrous date and misconfusion, she leaves in a cab back to the flat. Why does every man shriek from her as if she has the plague, first Gareth and now Justin, Tallie just wants to be rid of her maidenhead because it’s become a damn nuisance while trying to peruse a relationship!

Mark suddenly becomes cold, and once a bachelor always a bachelor? Then why is Mark being seen going out alone every night, no Sofie to warm his bed, he might just be fishing for a new woman, and why does he try to avoid Tallie? Didn’t they agree on separated lives, then how come they find themselves unable to sleep at night? And how does Tallie’s Villain in her story wind up being the hero, when she had so intended on hating him!

Great realistic characters, great storyline!! Wished Tallie wasn’t so hung up on Gareth, he showed out to be an ass, and yet she hanged on to a dream man that never really existed. Guaranteed a great read with Ms. Craven!!!

  • Purchased: His Perfect Wife
    • Rated 4 stars

Helen Bianchin is one of my favorite Harlequin authors. She creates a wonderful story that brings two people together in an interesting way.

    MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***

Lara's mother, Suzanne had fled with her daughter one night from her alcoholic and abusive husband. They lived together until Suzanne met Darius. Darius, a widow, and Suzanne a divorcee falls in love and marry. suspicions and insecurities misguides Darius son's reaction to the new addition. Lara has had a crush on her step brother for some time, so with a little help of spirits at her birthday party she innocently tries to kiss him, and then that's when Wolfe crushes her hopes.

10 years later after a terrible accident Darius and Suzanne are killed. Wolfe and Lara meet up with the lawyers to discuss details to the will. At this time Wolfe is an extremely wealthy and established business man, as to where Lara is in financial straights, after her partner in her restaurant drains the accounts and splits. Loan sharks are after her and she bites her tongue and her pride to ask Wolfe for help.

Wolfe accepts to help her . . . but on his terms. Marriage.

This is a very fast pace book. lovable characters, and not so lovable characters. Wolfe and Lara can hardly fight the sexually attraction that's been between them, and 10 years hasn't dulled it. They have a scheduled lifestyle, Wolfe is a workaholic yet makes time to visit Lara at the restaurant, he may be controlling and protective, but slowly it becomes obvious Wolfe cares about Lara, a little more than he's letting on.

Great character, wonderful pace, passionate scenes overall a great read.

Truly a sad story. The stepmother resented this poor child for no reason, even when she dies she had nothing to do with her, taking what she could with her to the grave. Completely unfair and unforgettable i felt connected to this book, to that poor child who tried to do the best she could, an intelligent young woman who should have been loved and adored, praised for her ambitions and excellence in her thirst for knowledge. It made me want to go out the the orphanages and hug each child, and whisper to them that they are special and are loved. It made me look around at my neighbors and friends and truly wish to know how they felt and if they have or could ever hurt someone so emotionally like this. I made feel love for her. I wished for her happiness so much. A fantastic read about life and home, of different cultures and rules.

wonderful: Description on Simon & Schuster Ruthless corporate raider Matthew Farrell was poised to move in on the legendary department store empire owned by Chicago's renowned Bancroft family. In the glare of the media spotlight, it was a stunning takeover that overshadowed the electric chemistry between Matt, once a scruffy kid from steel town Indiana, and cool, sophisticated Meredith Bancroft. Their brief, ill-fated marriage sparked with thrilling sensuality -- he was the outsider who dared to rock her country club world -- and ended with a bitter betrayal. Now, locked in a battle that should be all business, dangerous temptations and bittersweet memories are stirring their hearts. Will they risk everything on a passion too bold to be denied?

  • Remember When
    • Rated 4 stars

A great read: Here is a review on Simon & Schuster: Description Remember When is one of Judith McNaught's most enchanting New York Times bestsellers, "a tender novel celebrating the power of love" (The Literary Times). Alone on a moonlit balcony at Houston's White Orchid Charity Ball, Diana Foster courageously upheld the sparkling image of her family's Beautiful Living magazine. Recently jilted by her fiancé for an Italian heiress -- an insult delivered via a sleazy tabloid -- Diana was now very publicly unengaged, and surrounded by humiliating rumors. So why was billionaire Cole Harrison closing in on her with two crystal flutes and a bottle of champagne? The former stableboy had received an ultimatum from his uncle: bring home a wife -- soon -- or lose his share of a booming multinational business. Coolly analytical and arrestingly attractive, Cole knew what he wanted in a bride, and Diana Foster -- rich, beautiful, principled -- fit the role perfectly. But while a long, slow kiss sealed the bargain that solved both their dilemmas, neither imagined the extraordinary journey that would begin on that unforgettable night. . .
