John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I'm a nineteen year old girl who likes science fiction, dystopian, and fantasy books the best, though I'll also read the occasional mystery. I rarely read historical fiction... more »

Wow, that's cool that you save your deleted scenes. I didn't save my 6k, since I figure I won't be going back to the nano away, there's no need to be sentimental. I'm not deleting the nano, though for various reasons. But that's neat that you're doing that for your story. :) A deleted scenes file is a cool idea. I wrote (badly) about 2k last night. Yay! I need to get the first draft of this done soon while I'm not working.

Haha, I know JUST what you mean! :P

Ah, I know what you mean, I cut 6k from the nano within the past day or so. :P For the same reason.

Yeah, going though the first five pages of my nano did help me see where I can get better, which is good. But I just don't think my nano is worth the time to finish writing and then go though very exhausting rewrites and edits. Its just not good enough. Even if it was, it is too similar to something else I have read and enjoyed. So, rather then waste time with this novel I don't feel passionate about, I'm putting it aside. That way I can work on the novel I'm enjoying more. :) The only good thing about nano was that it taught me how to actually write something long term. :)

Have you worked on rewriting/editing yours?

Yeah, to give you an idea on how bad the nano is... Up to page 5 I have 22 revision notes. And in the current book I'm writing, up to page 5 only has 3 revision notes. (Of course, that might not count since I revised a bunch of it before those notes, so :/ Still, it's coming out cleaner then my nano, by a LOT.) The novel I'm reading now needs work, but it's finishable. :) Unlike my nano, which I never care to look at again unless I want a lesson in humility. :P

    How's your writing going?

Okay, so I decided to go about editing my nano this evening: it is so bad. Like, so bad it's funny. :P Either I've really improved as a writer, or the book I'm writing now is a lot easier to write. Probably a bit of both. Or maybe it was the time constraint.

    How's the writing going?

I've been busy with school/work, but since school is almost out, I'm looking forward to writing over break.

I'm at 28k. I'd like to get to 32k today, but 30k is more realistic.

Yeah, I figure if I'm not going to publish it, I might as well put it places where I can get feedback so that my next story can be better.

That's cool! Like the mind readers one?

    Allison says

Yeah, I've heard that too. I doubt I'll publish this anyway. Since it was an RPG orginally, I'm not sure if I'd be able to publish this anyway, since there is a similar story already online. :/ This story is just for fun. Its only saved as a draft, so I can always take it down if I want to, no one can see it right now but me.
