I love to read, so much that I will finish my Master's degree in Library and Information Science in May 2013. I work in a k-8 library, reading to some students and making recommendations to others. I enjoy playing tennis, reading Teen, mystery, horror, and some literary fiction, and collecting shoes.

Celia is back, and this time the castle has given her an egg! The ensuing chapters create challenges as she tries to learn how to take care of a griffin (!) and what is going on in the castle. The mysterious wizard Arkwright lends a scary presence, but finding out what he knows will lead to some changes at the castle.

Smokler takes a close look at all the lies women tell each other about motherhood. This hilarious look at motherhood is a very fast read that will help relieve the stress of parenting, until the kids have found you locked in the bathroom to read. Can't wait to hear what Smokler has to say when she has a teen-ager, and a girl no less!

Another arbitrary ending - are we ever going to find out the conclusion to the Selection?

  • Taken

Claysoot is home to many women and men under the age of 18, because at the stroke of midnight on their 18th birthday, the boys are Taken in a Heist. When Blaine is Heisted, Gray decides he wants answers, and takes drastic steps to do so. The book has so many influences, sounding in parts like The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, and other popular titles, making it a decent teen dystopian read but one that will seem familiar (Taem instead of Panem from HG and No-one-goes-over-the-wall like No-one-gets-out-of-the-maze in MR). I will read the sequel, but I won't necessarily be first on the hold list.

Amazing! Wonderful! This is a great horror story, in line with I am not a serial killer and The Monstrumologist. Rory has an accident and starts to see things. A group helps her to come to terms with her new ability while trying to stop a copy-cat Ripper killer.

  • Life After Life

I loved the idea of this story, but thought the execution lengthy and confusing. The use of German expressions makes me wonder if I didn't miss something. The characters were realistic but there were unnecessary details that slowed down reading.

Ooh, this is so good! Rory is invited to join an after school program, where she finds that fairy tales and magic are real. The writing is smooth, the action is continuous, and the characters are like friends. Great, great book!

This is a new Money Pit, with 80's pop culture thrown in for fun.
