Bookwoman

Bookwoman

I am a passionate book lover, a happily single mom of two grown daughters, and a lucky teacher of English to high school seniors. My colleagues on the AP list serve introduced me to this wonderful way of book sharing, so now I have one more excuse to avoid cleaning closets and drawers this summer!

I am a booklover, passionate once and moderate now. Will be in Houston next week flying from India, to see my newborn grandchild. Am an English Major and have (not consequently) published a five generation saga `Golden Stag'. Would like to know whether there are book clubs in Houston that meet regularly or even occasionaly

Tanks, Mothering Mother's probably cheapest on amazon. I hope you'll enjoy it. I promise--you'll laugh, and cry.
I haven't read The Next Place, I'll look for it. Bob Muncsh, who wrote Love You Forever is reading my book now--what a rush!

Yep! I know of Forest City...and Decorah (Luther), too! :) I'm sure I have college friends (from ISU) from Forest City, but I'd have to do research to remember who, exactly...Have a GREAT tiem at your reunion! Travel safely! :)

Where in Iowa are you from...and returning to? It's a small world, so I'm just checking. :)

Thank you for the suggestion! I am always on the hunt for new books and "Dear Papa" seems very unique in its writing style. You have an excellent variety on your shelf, too. I hope your day is well!

Hi - thanks for the invitation! I am also lucky enough to teach AP Lit to high school seniors. Sometime we'll have to compare what we have our classes read.

    Hi Books,
My name is Glenda, but my cousin calls me Glen since we all call her Deb.

I see you belong to a Cooks Books group. How fun. This summer I bought a new stove, and I have cookied up several nice meals.

    Hi Books,
I love talking to people who love books as much as I do. Will you be at the AP seminar at Rice U?

Good Morning, Bookwoman....Thanks for the note. I had to forcibly remove myself from Shelfari this weekend to be a responsible adult. You've got some interesting titles I look forward to trying when I finish my summer reading for school. When I changed schools, the summer list changed too, so I've been working my way through those titles while reading A Thousand Splendid Suns for myself. Your titles about mothers and daughters sound interesting. Have a great day :) Liz

Hi bookwoman! Thanks for friending me. I see that you have Hosseini's new book on your shelf. I've been debating about grabbing it from the bookstore (other books just keep calling out and distracting me). How did you like it? How did it compare to Kite Runner?

Hi Bookwoman- Do your seniors have summer reading? If so, would you mind sharing the titles? Thanks!

Thanks for friending me. I, too, am spending time here rather than on the summer chores--detestable things!

Hi bookwoman! I have a very close friend who now lives in the Houston/Spring area, and is looking for an English teaching position. She is having a hard time of it. Thanks for "friending" me!
