My foray into the world of words didn't start on paper, but by reading... more »

typical story of hurt women finally finding true love. unfinished sentences and other editing errors prevented me from giving this book a higher rating

This was one of the greatest historical fictions I've read. Slavery reminds me of adoption. To be stripped of your identity, made into who someone else wants you to be. This is a must read!

Although the lives of Tammy, Isis, Egypt, Coco and Tiny are probably mirrored by somebody in real life, I found the book unrealistic, loaded with too much drama. I'm glad I didn't have to buy the book. I may read another one of this author's works, afterall he tells a good story, but I'll get it from the library or borrow it.

Jacquelin Thomas is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I read Jezebel for a book club discussion and loved it. When I got the opportunity to read Redemption, I jumped at the chance.

Marin Alexander, a beautiful up and coming actress had her sights on Warner Brice, a televangelist. He was sure God told his spirit that Marin was to be his wife. But does Hollywood and The Pulpit really work? Marin tried her best to be the First Lady but Hollywood had more control over her than she could handle. Warner was as patient as a husband could be but he questioned if God had really told him Marin was to be his wife.

This is a great depiction of the biblical story of Hosea and Gome (Hosea 3:1)

I was really looking forward to reading this book, especially since I too am adopted and looking for my birth family. Although I'm happy that Skye found her brother, I am having a hard time reading this book. It is not holding my attention even with sexy Slade in the mix!

Don't we all have at least one family member who we consider "color struck"? Treva Langston's family has taken it to a whole new level and it has effected everything in her life: her family, her career, her self esteem and more importantly her faith in God. It takes a loving husband, Hezekiah, her sister Jillian and the mismatched assortment of women in her bible study group to help her through the issues and see herself as the beautiful woman she is. I read Heavenly Places thinking of the women in my life it could minister to, when I discovered I was the one being blessed by reading it. A must read for all women.
